Our hearts are saddened for the families of those lives lost in the recent shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas.
Families and communities all over our world are torn apart. Our hearts are saddened, outraged, and confused.
We want to reach out; we want to help. How can we possibly make a difference in today's challenging world? I wish those answers would be easy ones. No words can comprehend or heal these losses. So, we send our prayers and our thoughts for comfort.
What I do know, In spite of all the heartache, is there is still a lot of goodness in this world. We are a resilient people, and as Optimists - we love changing lives and we are continuing to do so, every day.
· West Missouri Optimists developing a plan to help fill a ship destined for
Ukraine with medicine;
· Prior Lake Junior Optimist club raised $13,000 for Ukraine relief;
· Blood drives, food drives in both Buffalo and Uvalde;
· Ramadan Iftar party- hosted by the Hand in Hand Club of the Optimist with
children presenting prizes, stories and sweets;
· Optimist Club of St. Louis granting a total of $82,500.00 to nine local
organizations within the St. Louis community who are working towards
improving the lives of the youth and community;
· Clothing, school supplies and fundraising in communities destroyed by
