April Insider 2019
JUNIORS VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
What an AWESOME sight to see all of the JVC regional teams compete at the highest level over the weekend of the Junior Championships. As I walked around a few things came to mind but the one that stood out the most was my thought of togetherness. Every year will offer a few challenges, on the court for athletes and off of the court for the rest of us. Championship weekend is proof that all of our work, because it is work on both sides, is worth all of our effort. As I watched our athletes I was simply impressed by so many things.

The Juniors Volleyball Club offers so many things to all of us, it’s our home away from home and we love it. The Championships are the culmination of several months of dedication and determination to become the best athletes and teams we possibly can. A few of the more impressive things to me were the sportsmanship, competitiveness, and absolute love for the game. The smiles on these athletes faces is what drives us to do better for them as a club. The parents were fully engaged and the spirit on the sidelines was simply remarkable. Every one of our affiliates did an amazing job all season preparing for this moment and every team showed up to play.

We want to thank all of the athletes for the great season you gave to your parents, coaches, and our club. We especially want to thank the parents for trusting us during an extremely important part of your children’s lives, we do not take this for granted.

We are already planning bigger and better things for next year, there are so many things that are in the works to really highlight this weekend for our JVC Families! We look forward to next year, but in the interim do not forget about our clinics and summertime programs including our beach program. If you have any questions about the summer offering please contact Scott Marita at [email protected]

We will see you on the beach in just a few months. You can keep up to date with the latest news by following us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Racine Juniors would like to congratulate 13-Red for a second place finish at the Junior Championships and 14-Red for a third place finish. All of the regional teams worked extremely hard throughout their season. We'd like to thank the parents for their support and communication. We'd also like to thank the coaches for their dedication to our teams. We are looking forward to our spring and summer camps!

Sami and Jenna , Racine Juniors 13-Red and 13-Blue, participated in Union Grove High School’s production of Fiddler on the Roof. They put in many hours of hard work at rehearsal and at practice. Their coaches went to watch their final performance. Nice job, ladies!

Kylie Brua
Kylie plays for Wisconsin Juniors 17 Elite Team

How long have you been with JVC and why do you like it here?
This is my first year here and I feel this is a great fit for me. This program has made me feel they have a lot of confidence in me on the court which in turn gives me more confidence. This club has allowed me to be free on the court and be an athlete and make mistakes with the confidence that I can correct myself on my own for the better good of the team.

What position do you play & do you have any tips/advice?
Setter, you can’t be scared to put yourself out there and allow yourself to make mistakes. That has held me back in the past.

Did you start at those positions or have you tried others?
I’ve always been a setter. I’m kinda a control freak so I knew being a setter would be a good fit. I get to tell my hitters what to do.

What intangibles do you find to be the most important on the court and why?
Trust, confidence, and heart because with the trust of your teammates you have the confidence in yourself to get the job done

What are you looking forward to this season?
I learned a lot about myself this summer and realized I have a lot more potential than I thought I had, and I’m really looking forward to bringing it to a great group of girls on my team.

Favorite thing about JVC?
The girls on my team.

Best Club Volleyball memory?
Sleepovers, that’s where it’s at.

Do you see yourself playing in college? If so do you have any thoughts or concerns to share?

I would love to play in college cause I can’t see myself stopping playing this sport at the age of 18.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of volleyball?
Have barbecues with my family, being outside, bonfires and hanging out with my best friends

What is your favorite food?
My favorite food group is chocolate. Followed up by ice cream with chocolate

Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Tiffany Clark, the Libero at UW-Madison, because she’s a freak athlete and she’s everywhere on the court. She’s so fun to watch.

What is your favorite school subject and why?
Gym first because I don’t get graded and also math because it has always been easy to me.
