"
Characteristics of the Thankful
"
|
This Sunday we will look at the characteristics of very
thankful people. I hope this message will help us recognize
who the thankful are, what they look like, and how we can
tell them from those who are not thankful. All as a way of
helping us understand how we might be seen by others.

Prayer Ministers:
(After 9:30 a.m. service)
Prayer Table – Eileen Andrews
Room 10
- Ron Gossard
After the benediction, follow the Light.
Prayer Ministers are waiting for you.

Each Sunday in Dunlap Hall, Family Care through the Power of Prayer offers a prayer table staffed by a Prayer Minister. Look for it on the left side near the doors to the hallway at the conclusion of each 9:30 and 5th Sunday 10:30 service.
As you enjoy coffee and visit with friends, feel free to have a moment of brief prayer lifted up on your behalf or on behalf of others.
If you prefer more privacy or a quieter setting, a second Prayer Minister will be available in room #10; the room next to the library.
Either way, our ongoing goal is to provide meaningful
opportunities for prayer that's important to you.
"So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to
receive His mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need."
Heb. 4:16 TLB

John Wesley UMC
Annual Church Conference
November 17
4:00 p.m.
All members of John Wesley UMC are invited to attend our Annual Church Conference on Sunday, November 17th, at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary here at the church.
The West Ohio Conference, once again, has provided a wonderful format for us which turns this from a simple presentation of numbers and statistics into a celebration of the ministry of John Wesley UMC!
We invite you to attend and, as part of the conference, we are asking people to consider these two questions:
- "How have you been blessed by the ministry of this church over the last year?"
- "How have you seen God working through this church to bless the community and world over the last year?"
You will have an opportunity to share your story related to the questions above as part of the conference so prayerfully consider what you might like to share about how John Wesley UMC has been able to reach the individual, touch the community, and serve the world.
If you have any questions about this meeting please call the church office,

Coalition Thanksgiving Service
Sunday, November 24th, 7:00 PM
At John Wesley
As part of our 50th Anniversary celebration, we are hosting the annual coalition Thanksgiving service. We will be joined by fellow Christians from Augsburg Lutheran, Pleasant Run Presbyterian and St. John Neumann Catholic churches. Enjoy the music of a combined choir led by Joanna Duhaime. As part of the celebration, an offering will be collected to support the Practical Grace Non-Food Pantry at the Presbyterian Church. Each month, families are supplied with a box of essential items which food stamps won’t buy. Recently, they served 160 families!! Some of our youth have been volunteering there. They love it and the clients appreciate their help carrying the heavy boxes.
If possible, bring one or more items from this list: deodorant, toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, bar soap, pump hand soap, shampoo, all-purpose cleaner, bleach, toothbrush, toothpaste, laundry detergent or dish soap (small size.) Many of these can be purchased at dollar stores or other discount retailers.
Please join us. You will be blessed!

Do you know much about geese? Check out the Children’s Sunday School bulletin board to the right of the nursery! The goose has has 4 eggs with information about this this interesting animal! For every dollar the students donate to purchase this animal through Heifer Int., an “eggs-tra” information egg will be added to the board. A flock of geese can be sent to a needing family for only $20! We hope to purchase several flocks this year!
