August Sermon Series – On the Journey

Friends, we are on a journey with God. Along the way on this journey, God will call us again and again into a deeper relationship and remind us that He is with us. We are called to a deeper knowledge, trust and love of the Lord. We will be reminded that “All things are possible with God.”

God knows our potential, and God is ever calling us to live into that potential. For as we walk with our Lord, and we learn from him.

Scriptures tell us of the journey of a man named Elijah, who was a strong prophet of God. Elijah’s journey was not simply going from place to place but running to save his life. God made sure he remembered his spiritual walk and calling!

Ahab, king of Israel, told his wife, Jezebel, what transpired and she was not fearful at all. She simply threatened Elijah’s life. Elijah, who through God, bade fire to come down and eat his sacrifice, panicked, got scared, and ran off to hide in a wilderness. From there he requested God to kill him; then an angel touched him and commanded he get up and eat

1 Kings 19:1-10, “Get up and eat”.
