Teaching and Inspiration of the Fall Season

Dear Beloved Church Family,

As we step into the fall season, our hearts and eyes are drawn to the beauty that surrounds us. The crisp mornings, the golden leaves, and the gentle rhythm of change remind us that God is always at work in nature and in our lives. Each season carries a message, and autumn, perhaps more than any other, teaches us about transformation, gratitude, and trust in God’s unchanging love.

The trees are a beautiful sermon in themselves. They let go of what once gave them life, not in despair, but in quiet faith that new life will come again. In much the same way, God sometimes calls us to release things, habits, fears, or burdens that weigh us down. Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” Fall reminds us that letting go is not the end, but the beginning of renewal.

This is also a season of thanksgiving. Farmers bring in the harvest, and we are reminded of God’s faithfulness in providing for us throughout the year. Even as daylight fades earlier and the air grows colder, we can still see the warmth of God’s presence all around us in the kindness of friends, in family gatherings, and in the fellowship, we share as a church.

Finally, fall teaches us to rest in God’s timing. The trees do not resist the coming winter; they trust the process that leads to new life in spring. In our spiritual lives, we too can trust that God is preparing us for growth, even when the world feels quiet or uncertain.

As we move through this season together, may we open our hearts to what God is teaching us through His creation. Let us be grateful for the beauty around us, faithful in times of change, and hopeful for the new things God is already doing in and through us.

A Prayer Minister will be available at the

back corner of Dunlap Hall, for at least

15 minutes after the benediction.

Masks will be worn when requested.

Prayer Minister this week is Susan DeNyse

Room Use and

Calendar Update

If you have any questions about meetings, scheduling, or room use, please always direct them to me, christie@jwumc.com or call me at 513-825-0733.

Keep in mind that all of our classrooms and meeting spaces are used by a variety of people throughout the week. No one group "owns" a certain room or meeting space so we all need to remember be kind and gracious as we work together to go about the business of being the hands and feet of Jesus.
