A quick & important note about behavior policies at the Joint Youth Ministry
Hey families,
We are grateful your students are part of JYM- either here or there or actively each week. We know that school and other extra curriculars take up a lot of time and we know that sometimes youth group might not feel like it's for you. We hope to continue to provide a variety of opportunities, times and events so you can find time to plug into a community that loves you and supports you as you figure out these sometimes difficult teenage years. We hope the community building, the goofy events and the service help point you to a faith that can sustain you and helps you to ask deeper questions. If it's been a while, please consider coming back and being part of things. We miss you
While we know that students go through all sorts of things as they grow up and are tempted with a variety of often negative choices we have noticed an uptick in the group bathroom usage the last few months. We plan to chat about it at youth group as well but wanted to start the conversation here so all are aware.
We have noticed some vaping and some passing around of items happening before and after bathroom usage. We want to remind you that we do not allow anything illegal on campus and do not want those items brought on to property, shared with others, or introduced to others. Please know we are noticing and will begin to confiscate items we find as well as limit bathroom usage to one person at a time.
In the larger picture we want the best for your overall health and growth and we know that there are times students struggle with all kinds of addiction. We would be happy to talk with you privately, go for coffee, talk through some of the things you might be struggling with. If you'd like, we can share some of the things we have seen happen in other students lives when the lines start to blur for alcohol, drug and tobacco use. We want to be a resources and help if you're struggling.
Thanks so much
