San Francisco High School Mission Trip
Who: Current 9th-12th graders
What: An overnight mission trip experience to San Francisco to learn about the history of the city, work with various non profits and bond as a youth group.
When: Saturday morning, November 19th at 6:30am meeting at WGUMC through Sunday November 20th afternoon at 3pm.
Where: We will be sleeping at the Waller Center- A United Methodist church converted to a retreat center with beds, bathrooms, kitchen, group meeting rooms. It is located near Golden Gate Park off Haight. We will be passing out care packets in the tenderloin, working in the SF/Marin food bank and volunteering at Glide and hopefully another agency, attending worship at Glide and having a group lunch and speaker at Delancey street
Why: Traveling together helps us grow closes and build friendships. Volunteering at many of these places helps expand our worldview and give back.
Cost: Cost includes our rental vans, retreat center fee and all meals. $175. If you need a scholarship, please indicate that in the notes.
If you need to be dropped off later in the day Saturday we can work that out or if you'd like to get picked up earlier by a parent because of a scheduling conflict we can also make that happen with advance notice.
All students on this trip must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. It is a requirement of each non profit we are working at in SF as well as the places we will dine at. Please send an email or text with a picture of your vaccination card
We will also be collecting supplies for our care kits that we pass out. We can use:
