Last week we got to serve our community and see a different part of San Josby volunteering with the San Jose Park's Department and members of the California Native Plants Society. It was a beautiful day and we are so grateful for our student and adult volunteer's hard work. Keep reading to see what is coming up next!

Maundy Thursday Communion Service, April 1st

“Maundy” comes from the mandate Jesus gave on his last night with his disciples, to care for one another as he cared for them. All three of our churches are gathering in Zoom for worship & Communion on Thursday. We will walk through the story of Jesus’ last night … his washing of the disciples’ feet, sharing the Last Supper, and praying in the garden at Gethsemane.

Please make ready a washcloth, water, bread, and a cup of juice. We remember not only from listening, but by participating in the story. Remembering these moments helps us prepare to celebrate the full power of Easter on Sunday.

Good Friday Service, April 2nd at 7:00pm via Zoom

This Friday is “Holy Friday” also known as “Good Friday.” It is the day we remember the death of Jesus. We remember what seems like the end of all that is “good” or “holy.”

We remember the result of human sin and frailty. Then, we wait to know “the rest of the story” in the power of God. Let us worship together through this most important Christian experience.

Let us worship with prayer, scripture, music (including an anthem by our “joint-church” choir), and the extinguishing of light amidst our worshiping community.

Each of our three churches will be streaming an Easter service online. Here is where to find them.

Almaden Hills: An audio version of Sermon and service will be available here.

Cambrian Park: at 10:00am Via Facebook Live. You do not need a Facebook account to watch. The video will be available to view after the live stream has ended. Watch on the Cambrian Park Facebook Page

Willow Glen: A video service will be uploaded to their YouTube channel before Sunday. Watch anytime! There is also a prayer walk set up in the Woodhaven garden that you may walk through on your own anytime this week. Please wear a mask and keep distance from anyone else you see on campus.

Tuesday April 6th

Sunset on Communication Hill

Join us for another sunset event on Communication Hill. We will have art supplies so you can paint or recreate the sunset. If you enjoy photography and would like to bring your camera, please do!

We will be meeting near the intersection of Adeline Ave & Casselino Dr, there isn't an exact address but 567 Adeline Ave should get you close.

Bring blankets or chairs to sit on, the ground is very scratchy. Of course wear your mask!

Move It March results!

Congratulations to the 99 participants in this past month's challenge! Our goal was a total of 100,000 "moving minutes" for the month of March and encouraged people to move at least 20 minutes per day. Once again you exceeded our goal with a total of 148,516 minutes, and an average of 48 moving minutes per day. Woo-hoo!

In the coming weeks we will send out a link to order a t-shirt or tank top for those who participated and want one. Keep your eyes peeled for any future challenges!
