It’s official! One Day for Jackson will be held on April 4.

The inaugural day of giving to exclusively raise funds and create awareness for Jackson Health System was announced at a recent press conference. Carlos A. Migoya, Jackson's president and chief executive officer, Flavia Llizo, Jackson Health Foundation's co-president and chief development officer, and David A. Coulson, Jackson Health Foundation chairman, welcomed donors, dignitaries, community organizations, media, advocates, and Jackson staff to celebrate this significant milestone.

One Day for Jackson will make a huge impact on our community. One hundred percent of funds raised will go toward supporting the most advanced treatments, innovative technologies, and leading-edge facilities at Jackson. Your support provides hope for those in need of organ transplants, hope for a cure for paralysis, hope for trauma patients, and much more. Stay tuned for updates and events that benefit One Day for Jackson in upcoming e-blasts, social media posts, and around town.

Lee Brian Schrager, founder of The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, hosted a dinner benefiting the Miami Transplant Institute to kick off the celebratory weekend.

On February 21, Lee Brian Schrager and the world-renowned physicians at the Miami Transplant Institute, partnered to create a wonderful dining experience to raise funds that will help save lives. Michelin two-starred chef Benjamin Six from Madame Rêve Hotel in Paris prepared an unforgettable French- and Japanese-inspired wine dinner at the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits Hospitality Center in the heart of Wynwood. One hundred guests attended the celebration recognizing the miracle of organ transplantation, and listened to the inspirational story of baby Noah Langlois, a pediatric transplant patient who received a life-saving liver. The evening allowed our generous donors to hear how they make an impact on the lives of Jackson patients in an intimate setting.

A heartfelt thank you to Lee Brian Schrager and everyone who attended.

Jackson Health Foundation is grateful for the widespread support we received at this monumental event that will transform Jackson Memorial’s current 48,000-square-foot ER into a 178,800-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. Once completed, the new ER will be the largest in the nation.

On Tuesday, January 23, Jackson Health System and Jackson Health Foundation, joined by dignitaries, philanthropists, and members of Jackson’s clinical care team, broke ground on Jackson Memorial Hospital’s new emergency room. The event highlighted Jackson's remarkable progress over the past decade, and unveiled key features that will distinguish the new emergency room. Carlos A. Migoya, Jackson’s president and chief executive officer, Hamilton Clark, Jackson Memorial’s senior vice president and chief executive officer, and Flavia Llizo, the Foundation’s co-president and chief development officer, discussed the expansion’s significance, its potential community impact, and the collaborative efforts that made it possible.

The reimagined emergency room will be a role-model facility in quality, efficiency, and experience. For more details, visit Jackson Expansion.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors. A special thank you to Trish and Dan Bell, Carlos and Martaligia Lopez-Cantera, and Ceferino Machado for their significant contribution toward the adult emergency room expansion; and G City and West Coast University for their contributions toward the pediatric emergency room expansion, with construction work scheduled to begin in fall 2025.

Adaptive golf clinics are a hole-in-one for

rehab outpatients

Thanks to the Bona Family Foundation and Tito’s Vodka, in collaboration with Ricky Smith Golf Performance Center in Doral, for sponsoring this amazing experience.

We are grateful for another round of adaptive golf clinics. Led by skilled PGA coaches, including the talented John Moscoso, these clinics provide recreational therapists at Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center for The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at UHealth/Jackson Memorial the opportunity to create outdoor experiences for Jackson rehab patients with the help of adaptive gear. Inclusive activities like these wouldn’t be possible without our donors’ tremendous support.

Your support makes Jackson miracles happen

After giving birth to a stillborn son in 2016, Ruby Theophile, considered high-risk, delivers her miracle baby, Jaelynn at just 25 weeks in 2022.

Jackson employee Ruby Theophile, battling severe polycystic ovarian syndrome, received encouragement and guidance from her team of physicians at Holtz Children’s Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital. At 25 weeks, she delivered a baby girl, Jaelynn, who faced multiple complications in her first three weeks of life but then began to thrive in the neonatal intensive care unit at Holtz Children's. After 100 days, Jaelynn’s health improved she was able to go home shortly after.
