The Pool at Buckner Park will be closing for the season. The last day to swim is Sunday, August 14th.

Seven lake lots are going up for auction beginning the morning of August 8th and ending the evening of September 5th.

A burn ban is still in effect for Cherokee County. Please do not start any outdoor fires, do not throw cigarette butts on the ground, and avoid setting off fireworks. Fireworks are not banned but are discouraged.

The library is showing Brother Bear 2 on Thursday, August 18th at 5:30pm. They are serving Chili Cheese Nachos for dinner! Come on out and bring the whole family!

With the conclusion of summer reading, Story Time will begin again starting August 17th. You will not want your kids to miss Story Time. We are going to have some special guests later this month including our very own Police Chief Joe Williams.

Our 150th Anniversary Celebration for Jacksonville will be held on October 22! You do not want to miss it! Come home, come downtown, come together.

Our Library is putting on some awesome historic dress days! This month is the 1800s/Pioneer. Come take a photo with our library staff on the 9th or 12th!

It's time to think about decorations for the big Birthday Celebration in October. Here's an easy way to get some gorgeous buntings for a commercial building (HEY, downtown businesses!) and homes. Company's coming....we're asking that everyone decorate to greet our visitors by Labor Day and then leave them up until the Sesquicentennial Celebration on Saturday, October 22nd.
