Summer Reading Sponsors
Summer Reading was a great success this year! Thank you so much to our generous sponsors!
Library Events:
The library is showing Brother Bear 2 on Thursday, August 18th at 5:30pm. They are serving Chili Cheese Nachos for dinner! Come on out and bring the whole family!
With the conclusion of summer reading, Story Time will begin again starting August 17th. You will not want your kids to miss Story Time. We are going to have some special guests later this month including our very own Police Chief Joe Williams.
Public Safety Events:
Join our Police Officers for some coffee and conversation. No agenda or speeches, just engaging with the community and our officers. Free coffee and a light breakfast!
SAVE THE DATE! National Night Out will be held on October 4th! This year will be even bigger than last year if you can believe it. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please reach out to Amanda Bragg at 903.339.3356.
Sesquicentennial Events:
Our 150th Anniversary Celebration for Jacksonville will be held on October 22! You do not want to miss it! Come home, come downtown, come together.
Our Library is putting on some awesome historic dress days! This month is the 1800s/Pioneer. Come take a photo with our library staff on the 9th or 12th!
Decorate Downtown
It's time to think about decorations for the big Birthday Celebration in October. Here's an easy way to get some gorgeous buntings for a commercial building (HEY, downtown businesses!) and homes. Company's coming....we're asking that everyone decorate to greet our visitors by Labor Day and then leave them up until the Sesquicentennial Celebration on Saturday, October 22nd.

This July City Council meeting was cancelled.
