JACKSONVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY
CITY CENTRAL AT TOMATO FEST
The City of Jacksonville was thrilled to be a part of the 37th Annual Tomato Fest this year! We had each department recognized in our City Central area complete with a Touch the Truck area where kids, young and old, could sit in and touch some of our City fleet of trucks. We had the Explore Jacksonville, Library, Fire and Police tents with department give-away items, as well as the Restroom Amenity Trailer set-up for all of the Tomato Fest visitors to use.

We really enjoyed seeing the thousands of visitors and sharing how each department works together to support this great City!
Kids who visited the COJ Fire Department tent were able to get a red fire hat and activity book, while learning about fire prevention safety!
Our Public & Community Services Department had a big job making sure electrical lines were run prior to all the vendors arriving and they did a fantastic job!
We found many young, aspiring Police Officers who stopped by the PD tent to receive their honorary badge and even try on some official Police gear!

PUBLIC & COMMUNITY SERVICES
The City of Jacksonville was selected as a finalist in the Sustainable Infrastructure category in the 2021 IDC Smart Cities North America Awards! The AMI Smart Water Project that was implemented in our city saved millions of gallons of water during the February 2021 freeze. This story was presented to the award committee a few months ago. It is a huge honor to be a finalist!
