The 4th of July is around the corner. Fireworks are prohibited within the City Limits. Even with the burn ban, you may still shoot fireworks outside the City limits but it is discouraged. |

Teknor Apex - Consumer Products was awarded the Employer of the Month by Sherri McDonald of JEDCO. With facilities located across the US, Europe and Asia, Jacksonville, TX is home to one of its color divisions. The local plant of 48 employees supplies color products to meet a wide range of industrial needs. Receiving the award are Plant Manager, Montez Wells and Kathy Herrick.

A burn ban has been issued for Cherokee County. Please do not start any outdoor fires, do not throw cigarette butts on the ground, and avoid setting off fireworks. Fireworks are not banned but are discouraged. |

There is a lot of misinformation about the new Garage Sale ordinance. The basics: you can have one twice per year for three days each. Make sure your signs are not in public right of way and that you have permission from the property owner to put the signs in their yard.
