FIREWORKS
The 4th of July is around the corner. Fireworks are prohibited within the City Limits. Even with the burn ban, you may still shoot fireworks outside the City limits but it is discouraged.
EMPLOYER OF THE MONTH
Teknor Apex - Consumer Products was awarded the Employer of the Month by Sherri McDonald of JEDCO. With facilities located across the US, Europe and Asia, Jacksonville, TX is home to one of its color divisions. The local plant of 48 employees supplies color products to meet a wide range of industrial needs. Receiving the award are Plant Manager, Montez Wells and Kathy Herrick.
BEAUTIFUL YARD
Cheryl and Randy Gorham were awarded the Beautiful Yard Award by Keep Jacksonville Beautiful.

Fathers Love was awarded the Beauty and Business award by Keep Jacksonville Beautiful.
2021 WATER QUALITY REPORT

BURN BAN
A burn ban has been issued for Cherokee County. Please do not start any outdoor fires, do not throw cigarette butts on the ground, and avoid setting off fireworks. Fireworks are not banned but are discouraged.
Garage Sale Ordinance
There is a lot of misinformation about the new Garage Sale ordinance. The basics: you can have one twice per year for three days each. Make sure your signs are not in public right of way and that you have permission from the property owner to put the signs in their yard.

Library Events:
The library is showing Brother Bear on Thursday, July 21 at 5:15pm. They are feeding us Chicken Spaghetti for dinner! Come on out and bring the whole family!
Shy Readers? Chelsea's Chariot is holding some events at the library to help our little ones get more comfortable reading out loud. Cute dogs are involved! Make sure you come an hour early for mandatory training if you haven't already been trained. July 7, 6pm; July 13, 1:30pm; and July 14, 6pm.
Public Safety Events:
Join our Police Officers for some coffee and conversation. No agenda or speeches, just engaging with the community and our officers. Free coffee and a light breakfast!
Our Fire Department is partnering with TXDOT and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension to bring Car Seat Inspections. Is your child safe? Come find out!
Sesquicentennial Events:
Our 150th Anniversary Celebration for Jacksonville will be held on October 22! You do not want to miss it! Come home, come downtown, come together.
Our Library is putting on some awesome historic dress days! This month is the 50's. Come take a photo with our library staff on the 12th or 15th!
