Green Spotlight with Katherine Elkins, Sustainability Coordinator Intern

Katherine shares:

Hello everybody! This week, I have a quick activity you could do with your younger ones to get moving, get outside, and spend some time appreciating the environment. You could do this activity in a couple of different ways:

Use up some spare cardboard lying around by taking a small piece, punching some small holes in it with a pencil, and go out and collect some plants or flowers to arrange into a seasonal display! You could even draw a vase onto the cardboard as extra decoration.

Alternatively, wrap a piece of tape inside-out around you and/or your child's wrist and stick plants you find onto it for a temporary environmental bracelet! This activity can be as long or as short as you'd like, and you can do it multiple times throughout the seasons to see how our environment changes around us over time. Enjoy, and have a great Sunday!
