Schoolwide Book Read: Raising Mentally Strong Kids

This year, our schoolwide book read is Raising Mentally Strong Kids by Charles Fay and Daniel Amen. The authors explore how factors like sleep, stress, genetics, and overall wellness shape a child’s developing brain—and how loving, logical guidance helps them grow into confident, resilient, and compassionate young adults.

We invite our SA community to read along with us, and we’ll gather for a discussion event in March 2026. Stay tuned for the date!

Hello from the SA Green Club for Parents and Families!

The Green Club's November 5 meeting sparked great ideas for strengthening Salisbury Academy’s sustainability efforts. Stay tuned for our next gathering in January—all are welcome to join!

Initial priorities include launching SA’s new Styrofoam-Free Campus policy, reducing lunch-related waste, improving recycling signage, and exploring native wildflower plantings to enhance our outdoor spaces.

Contact Lizzy Roy to get involved and learn more!

Introducing the Styrofoam-Free Campus Pledge

At Salisbury Academy, we strive to make choices that support our students, our community, and our planet. As part of this ongoing commitment, we’re pleased to share that SA is striving to have Styrofoam-Free Campuses.

This small but meaningful step helps reduce waste and reinforces the sustainable habits we want to model for our children. We kindly encourage families to choose non-styrofoam items when sending in supplies for class parties, lunches, and school events.

Thank you for partnering with us. Your thoughtful choices help our students learn what stewardship and care for our environment truly look like.

SA is Hiring for our Afterschool Team!

Know someone who would be a great addition to Salisbury Academy’s passionate and dedicated afterschool team? We’re hiring! Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Mrs. Fowler for more information.

Lost and Found

As the weather cools, our Lost and Found is quickly filling up. Please encourage your child to check for any missing jackets, hoodies, water bottles, or lunch boxes—or feel free to stop by the table yourself. Items with names on them will be returned to students as soon as they’re found.

Winter Play and Spring Musical Auditions

The Wizard of Oz

Salisbury Academy students and community members are invited to audition for The Wizard of Oz on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Hedrick Little Theater, Catawba College (2220 W. Innes Street).

  • 6 p.m.: Dance call – wear dance-appropriate clothing and shoes
  • 7 p.m.: Vocal auditions begin – prepare a 16-bar cut in the style of The Wizard of Oz or Golden Age musical theatre. Bring sheet music for the accompanist.
  • Audition forms must be filled out and brought with you.
  • Some auditionees may be asked to read sides from the script.

Casting calls will go out later that evening and throughout the week.

Interested in doing tech for the performance? Upper School students can schedule a tech interview for Nov. 18 via Google Classroom.
