Salisbury Academy Christmas Happiness Party and Donations for RVO (Rowan Vocational Opportunities)

Mrs. Coulter shares:

We are coming together again this year to collect donations for Rowan Vocational Opportunities. Salisbury Academy's commitment to RVO and our Christmas Party with the RVO clients have become tradition; these individuals are truly grateful, and this organization is so deserving of our support.

RVO provides employment, education, therapy, friendship, and many other services for adults with mental disabilities. The needs of these individuals are for basic items that many of us take for granted. We can work to make sure that each and every one of the 200 clients of RVO will receive a hardy bag of essential items.

A highlight of this partnership is sharing a Christmas party together. It is quite exciting for us to be able to spend this quality time with some dear individuals. My middle school exploratory is currently planning for this event, and will take the party and donations to RVO on Wednesday, December 13.

There is a particular need for personal items. View the RVO wish list for donations here. We will also accept monetary donations (to the attention of Heather Coulter/checks made out to Salisbury Academy) which will be used to purchase priority and bulk items.

These items will be collected in the homeroom classrooms and can be dropped off with me (Mrs. Coulter) at any time. Please contact me with any questions.

Please send all items by Monday, December 11.

Thank you for your support!

PSA Corner: Christmas Gift Fund for Teachers and Staff

Dear Parents of Salisbury Academy,

For the next two weeks, the PSA will be collecting voluntary donations toward a Christmas Gift Fund for the teachers and staff members of Salisbury Academy. We all know how difficult it can be to find just the right gift for each teacher, so, to make your life a bit easier, you can show your appreciation to the entire staff in ONE CHECK! PSA will pool all the money received and deliver Christmas cheer to each teacher and staff member before Christmas break. Contributions will be accepted now until Friday, December 8 at the end of the school day. Read more here

Thank you for your support!

Reviewing in a Rainbow of Learning

Second grade students traveled through the rainbow collecting colors as they reviewed this year's math units before Thanksgiving break! In order to support retention and set the class up to dive into the next unit after break, students visited colored tables that held math challenges from different areas of focus from this school year to date. With each table completed, the students earned another color. Once they had their rainbows completed, students had the satisfaction of reflecting on all they have learned, knowing they are ready for the next steps!
