Celebrating Black History Month at SA

SA Parents:
The month of February has provided a variety of opportunities for our entire school community to celebrate Black History Month through artistic expression, explorations during library time, morning meetings discussing influential figures, the reading of stories and biographies, and curriculum units surrounding African Americans and their central role in U.S. History.
The eighth grade's unit on the Civil Rights Movement has complemented their studies of Black History, and representatives from the eighth grade have opened each chapel during the month of February with Black History Month features on various historical figures.
While the deep appreciation for this rich history and the incredible individuals who have contributed to it continues year-round, the past several weeks have been an inspiring time of reflection and celebration!
Warm Regards,
Bevery Fowler
