Greek Fest in Second and Sixth Grades
Salisbury Academy's second and sixth grade have been studying Ancient Greece and on Friday collaborated in a creative and celebratory Greek Fest! In a typical school year the sixth grade class designs and leads learning centers for second grade to circulate through as part of the fest. This year, due to social distancing needs, sixth-graders innovated to provide pre-packaged activities and recorded educational videos for the second grade to enjoy as they progressed through centers on Sparta/Athens, Greek pottery, drama and the Pegasus myth, the Olympics, weaponry, and Ancient Greek jewelry with an emphasis on Athena. Way to go, sixth grade!
Over the course of their unit, second grade students designed their own god or goddess and made scratch art pottery. They've read about and completed puzzles on the Olympics and even enjoyed Olympic events during their PE time with Coach Wilson. To finish their day, second grade tasted Greek treats provided by class parents, and both second and sixth grades enjoyed a Greek lunch.
Congrats to all on a creative and engaging SA Greek Fest 2020!

SA Annual Fund: Why We Give
What's your reason for supporting the SA Annual Fund? The Jackson family shares theirs:
"From our first visit to the JK classroom to now having a second-grader, we have experienced first hand the love of learning that Salisbury Academy instills in its students. SA promotes an environment which fosters and encourages growth, and this makes it easy to support the Annual Fund of this school that we value so very much."

Staff Christmas Gift Fund - an all-in-one holiday gift!
Now through Friday, December 4, PSA will be collecting voluntary donations toward a Christmas Gift Fund for the teachers and staff members of Salisbury Academy. We all know how difficult it can be to find just the right gift for each teacher, so, to make your life a bit easier, you can show your appreciation to the entire staff in ONE CHECK!
PSA will pool all the money received and deliver Christmas cheer to each
teacher and staff member. Please make your check payable to "Salisbury Academy-PSA" and write "PSA Staff Gift" in the memo section. Tracey Peoples will accept the checks at the front desk, or you may send in an envelope with your child with "PSA Staff Gift" on the front. A note with names of all contributing families will accompany each staff gift. Thanks so much, and happy holidays!
