Chapels at SA are off and running! This special weekly gathering has gone virtual in order to meet health and safety protocols, and our SA families are invited to join us. Students and staff view chapel each Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
Chapel videos for each week will be posted on the SA website every Wednesday afternoon:
A much-loved time for students, faculty, staff, and families, chapel provides our school community with an opportunity to join together to celebrate, enjoy music, and reflect on the school-wide, monthly virtue. Guest speakers provide insights on core virtues, and students have an opportunity to build confidence and speaking skills by taking on key speaking parts in each chapel.

Social-Emotional Classes Build Confidence and Relationship Skills |

Social-emotional well-being is a key component to healthy development and happiness for children, and the middle school years provide a wealth of opportunities for students to grow in confidence and self-awareness.
To support and encourage students on their social-emotional learning journeys, Mrs. Doby is leading weekly SEL classes for students in grades fifth through eighth.

At the start of SEL classes for this year, Mrs. Doby surveyed each grade on which topics most interest them. Seventh grade (pictured here) selected relationship skills as the topic they'd like to delve into first. In this week's class, students learned how active listening makes up 80% of all communication. To hone their skills and learn what their opportunities are for growth, students played a listening game.
Social-emotional learning is integrated into classroom curriculum for all grades, JK through eighth, at SA. School counselor Mrs. Deal provides teachers with weekly lessons and resources for SEL development, and students have shown great interest in and enthusiasm for this focused time each week.

Fall Pictures

- Mrs. Peoples will reach out to the Engage from Home families to set up a predetermined time for their student’s photo shoot.

Fall Picture Day will take place under the canopy in the front of the school on Wednesday, September 16 beginning around 8:15 a.m. In the event of severe weather, we will reschedule for Wednesday, September 30.

Please order online at mylifetouch.com using your Picture Day ID: EVTDJNSTN or complete the order form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher as soon as possible.
- Students in Grades 1-8 may wear a regular uniform or a dress uniform for this picture.
- Lifetouch will follow the guidelines or recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards related to COVID-19.

Habeeb Catering will begin serving lunches for students in grades 1-8 on M-Th starting September 14. Please turn your orders in by September 8.
Note: Several changes have been made on the lunch calendar surrounding the fall break weekend. If you have already submitted a lunch order for a day that the students will not be on campus, please email Habeeb Catering. You'll be credited for these days. Thank you!
