A Shared Vision for SA's Future |
|
Dear Salisbury Academy Families,
In the fall of 2018, Salisbury Academy kicked off a strategic planning process to determine our school's aspirations over the next five years. This fall, we have rolled up our sleeves and started work in earnest.
We appointed a Strategic Planning Committee whose focus is uncovering opportunities for SA and making recommendations. This group reflects the diversity of thought and experiences of alumni, faculty/staff, current/past parents, and trustees. The committee is listed below.
Vibrant independent schools are able to build on their program strengths and innovate in ways that keep education relevant and dynamic. As we continue to plan for our future, we need your feedback and input.
During the next few weeks, teams will form to tackle specific focus areas and follow-up surveys will be sent to parents.
Because we want to keep all parents engaged, we are planning updates throughout the spring semester through dedicated emails, Lunch and Learn sessions, and updates to our website.
We look forward to working with you on our shared vision for Salisbury Academy's future!

Warm Regards,
Beverly Fowler, Head of School

Fourth Grade Travels to Ancient Africa
|
Fourth grade students recently made their final stop on a magic carpet ride through ancient and medieval Africa! Over the past several weeks, students have traveled through the Kush, Axum, Ghana, Mali, and Songhai empires where they learned about the natural resources, time periods, geographic features, and religious beliefs of the different kingdoms. Students also explored the folklore of the different regions.
As a colorful culmination of the unit, students donned their traditional African kentos and gris-gris medallions and simulated an Ancient African marketplace in the busy trading center of Timbuktu.
