Celebrating the Jaguar Spirit:
A very happy Spirit Week at SA
Dear Salisbury Academy Families,

The Jaguars gave it their all in a joyful showing of creativity and SA pride for this week's SA Spirit Week! From breaking out our silly sides on Wacky Tacky Day to the hilarious hats, socks, and PJ outfits worn by students and staff, this week has been full of laughter and community fun.

As a culminating moment of Jaguar pride this week, the school community came together to celebrate our winter athletes at Friday afternoon's pep rally. Lower school students held up signs in support of their eighth grade buddies as the entire school erupted in cheers for all of the sports teams.

This week and every week at SA, the community connectedness and Jaguar spirit shines in all that we do!
Warm Regards,

Beverly Fowler, Head of School

Finding and Developing Passions in SA Spring Enrichment Programs
How do we communicate non-verbally and read non-verbal cues? What does it take to build and program a robot that can move on command and perform various tasks? And how will SA's youngest learners choose to express themselves theatrically after a semester of instruction in song, dance, and performance?  These questions and more will be answered over the course of the coming months through SA's spring semester enrichment after-school courses: Sign Language, BrickEd Lego Robotics, and Little Performers.

Salisbury Academy's enrichment programming provides choice-based offerings for students as they explore topics and areas of interest that complement their school-day educational experiences. Through enrichment programming at Salisbury Academy, students are invited to delve deeper into their curiosities about the arts, technology, wellness, and more!

The Tablecloth Trick:
Can it be done? Yes, it can!

Eighth grade students enjoyed a visit from the Catawba Science Center as they put to test Newton's Laws of Motion in a special program on force and motion. Students explored inertia, air resistance, energy transfer, and the law of conservation of energy. As one of several demonstrations, eighth-grader Jaiden overcame friction, inertia, and static electricity to successfully pull a tablecloth out from under a full place setting! The tablecloth trick demonstrates Newton's First Law of Motion.
