A Grand Evening with SA Grads and Alumni Families
Dear Salisbury Academy Families,

An annual tradition that brings SA students, families, teachers, alumni, and alumni families together in an evening of fun, the SA Alumni Basketball Game brought with it laughter, cheers, and a homecoming welcome for our grads on Thursday. Alumni delighted in reconnecting, thumbing through yearbooks, and posing with the Jaguar mascot. They were especially happy to see the many familiar faces - teachers, staff, parents, and SA peers of all ages.

This tradition has such meaning. The lively conversations held with alumni on Thursday are a reminder of the many students who have grown with us at SA and the lasting, positive impact we have on one another.

Thanks to all who joined us for this special event. And for our current students and families, know that you will always have a home here at SA!
Warm Regards,

Beverly Fowler, Head of School

Launching 2019 in Middle School Flex Time

Middle School students come together each week for a 45-minute Flex Time dedicated to community building and design thinking of all kinds. To kick off 2019 on their first day back from break, middle school students not only launched the new year but also launched confetti from homemade catapult systems!

Students were provided a set number of supplies including paint stirrers, cups, rubber bands, and a spool of thread. After a round of word games with the entire middle school, students broke into small groups to devise the best way to launch the confetti.

Middle School Division Director Mrs. Goodman shares that Flex Time looks different each week. Flex Time may build community and present challenges through a service project one week and a STEM lab the next.

" Providing students with the opportunity to explore new concepts and break out of a traditional schedule is a top priority for us. Whether through designing a catapult system or working in groups on a service project, students encounter real-world problems and work together to persevere through challenges," shares Mrs. Goodman.

"These moments of growth allow students to increase stamina and teach them that the journey to success is not always easy, and that's OK."
