Children's author Dicy McCullough has just added a seventh book entitled
Tired of Music to her successful line of children's books. With other titles in the series such as
Tired of My Bath and
Tired of School, McCullough's books generally feature characters learning a valuable lesson about appreciating certain aspects of living and learning that are often taken for granted.
Tired of Music revolves around a school where the children have seemed to stop enjoying music -- that is, until one day when a mysterious new teacher dressed in black named "Dr. Rob" appears at the door.
McCullough is a Rowan County native who is also a former classroom educator and music teacher. With
Tired of Music being her seventh book in the series, she worked longer on this book than any other because music is so dear to her heart. She knew of Dr. Rob's reputation as a passion igniter regarding children's music programs. For years, principals in local school systems would request Dr. Rob be assigned to their schools in situations where the children did not like going to music.
The books are
on sale on Amazon for $10.99. To learn more about the books, visit the
author's website. Dr. Rob does not make any profit off of the sales. McCullough requests that those who purchase the book and have a free moment, please write a review on Amazon.
McCullough presented the book to Salisbury Academy in honor of Dr. Rob at this week's chapel gathering. Dr. Rob has offered to autograph books that SA students purchase! He said of the book:
"I was most honored and pleased with the results. It's surreal seeing a cartoon version of yourself, but the illustrator did do a marvelous job and the book has a great message for students. There is even a flashback picture showing me at school when I was young sitting still in my desk behaving and listening to the teacher, which my wife said classifies the book as 'fiction.' Anyway, I highly recommend you checking it out!"
