National Day of Prayer at SA: A message to love one another
Eighth grade students led the school community in prayers for our government, community, school, churches, and families at Thursday's National Day of Prayer chapel. Adding a special musical element to the program, first, second, and third grade students closed with a special song, "Let's Just Pray," composed by Dr. Rob.

The National Day of Prayer dates back to 1952 when it was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Since that year, a National Day of Prayer proclamation has been offered each year on the first Thursday in May by every president.

Mrs. Fowler shared a proclamation for the day, signed and delivered from the office of Mayor Al Heggins, and closed the chapel with a message on this year's National Day of Prayer theme:

"As this year's National Day of Prayer passage inspires us to do, let us go forth and love one another."

James Fisher, Head of School for the Day

Sixth-grader James Fisher is excited to take the position of Head of School for the day on Thursday, May 9. Look for his smiling face at carpool!

James' special requests for the day include a whole-school non-uniform day, no homework, extra recess, and for Mrs. Fowler to sit in class as a student. James will also teach a PE class!
