Acadia National Park and Boston Adventure through SA Enrichment Travel
Dear Salisbury Academy Parents,

Learning experiences outside of the classroom are central to the Salisbury Academy mission as they instill a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around us! Family travel is a wonderful way to extend this to not only our students but to siblings and SA parents, alumni, and alumni parents as well.

We are excited to offer this year's travel opportunity to Acadia National Park and Boston on June 1-5. All interested families are encouraged to take part.  Now is the time to sign up, as the $99 deposit is due September 27.

As part of this fantastic adventure, travelers will hike to the summit of Cadillac  Mountain, the highest point along the North Atlantic Seaboard. Other adventures on the trip will include a bike tour of Acadia carriage roads as well as whale watching, walking the Freedom Trail, and visiting Paul Revere's home and Fenway Park in Boston.  It is sure to be an unforgettable adventure.

For the price of $1,699 per person, everything on the trip will be covered - airfare, hotel, ground transportation, meals, sightseeing, evening activities, as well as
medical insurance. Register online or for
more information view the trip overview or contact Melody Lee at [email protected]. We hope that you can join us for this exciting experience!

Developing Community Stewards: SA service partnerships by class
Community stewardship takes place in all of Salisbury Academy's classrooms, all year long! In addition to school-wide efforts, classrooms have organizations that they work with on a regular basis throughout the year. Just this week, third grade read books to their friends at Carillon Assisted Living (pictured left and below) and JK/K students collected food items for Rowan Helping Ministries at their quarterly Giving Party (pictured above). Organizations by class are:

JK/K: Quarterly Giving Parties - each party serves a different organization, giving the children a wide exposure to different community needs.
First Grade: Book Buddy program with Trinity Living Center.
Second Grade: Food collection and delivery to Isenberg Elementary as part of the Communities in Schools program.
Third Grade: Regular visits to Carillon Assisted Living and Brookdale Assisted Living.
Fourth Grade: Packing food and other activities at Rowan Helping Ministries.
Fifth Grade: Partnership with the Arc of Rowan and participation each year in the Arc's Festival of Trees.

Students in grades 6-8 work in their advisories with a number of organizations throughout the year including Rowan Helping Ministries, Prevent Child Abuse Rowan, the VA Hospital of Salisbury, Rowan Vocational Opportunities, Meals on Wheels, Partners in Learning, and Footprints in the Community.
