Second grade students enjoyed hands-on centers in the culmination of their first CKLA unit, Fairy Tales and Tall Tales. The centers incorporated map skills to find Pecos Bill and Beauty and the Beast, baking pancakes for Paul Bunyan, and weaving a coat for The Emperor's New Clothes. Students also illustrated their CKLA vocabulary words: tame, curious, and legendary.

The Broyhill Journey: Incredible experiences made possible by SA Corporate Partners |
|
Salisbury Academy Broyhill Scholar Isaiah Woods |
|
Dear Salisbury Academy Parents,
Over the past nine years Salisbury Academy has had the honor of sending 116 students from Rowan-Salisbury high schools to the Broyhill Leadership Program. This summer, students from Carson High School, North Rowan High School, Rowan County Early College, and Salisbury High School attended the program. These scholarships are funded through proceeds from our annual Bloom gala as well as through our Corporate Partners who so generously support educational advancement at Salisbury Academy and in the greater community.
In this week's Salisbury Post feature on Broyhill Scholar Isaiah Woods, Woods shares how impactful his experience at the three-day leadership camp at Wingate University has been in his life and the many opportunities that the experience has opened him to.
"Hope. It's as simple as that," Isaiah shares. "Salisbury Academy game me more than money for a program. They gave me self-belief that I could apply for these things and have these kinds of opportunities."
