JANUARY 2024

Gerontology Institute turns 40

The Massachusetts legislature established the Gerontology Institute in 1984 to serve as a resource for the Commonwealth. Throughout 2024, we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary with reflections on milestones along the way, including the founding of our Journal of Aging & Social Policy 35 years ago, our Pension Action Center 30 years ago, and our Osher Lifelong Learning Institute 25 years ago.

Under the theme, "Forward at 40: Advancing Equity," we'll also highlight the increasing impact our research, with its focus on equity, is making on the future of age-friendly communities, financial security, long-term supports and services, and social determinants of health.

Welcome to the celebration, we're glad to have you following along!
