WWfaC 2026 Anthology

We’re thrilled to announce a Call for Submissions for Women Writing for (a) Change’s 2026 community anthology...

We Hold These Truths to Be Self-Evident

This collection will feature poetry and prose from writers speaking bravely into the stark light of our times.

We’re seeking work that tells the truth—work that challenges, heals, and opens something up.

  • Submissions will be accepted until February 16, 2026.

Open Mic Night

Join us for "Casting Vision", at our upcoming Open Mic Night, on January 13 from 6:30–8:00pm.

V-Day Submissions

Write about your stories, hopes, dreams and REAL experiences of True Love.

V-Day is a global movement working to end violence against women, including cisgender, transgender, and gender-expansive individuals.

At WWfaC V-Day started as a reading of the Vagina Monologues, and morphed into our own community event where people share writing about gender, discrimination, sexuality & love through poetry, humorous essays, and storytelling.

Submission Details:

  • Each piece should be three minutes or less in length. (Practice by reading out-loud and setting a timer)
  • Readers will be notified by Feb 4th if they are selected to read.
  • Selected readers and pieces will read/perform at our hybrid virtual/in person V-Day event February 27th.

Tickets sales for V-Day will go live January 9th!

New Events Calendar

Planning just got easier! Women Writing for (a) Change now has an events calendar where you can find upcoming events and community gatherings at a glance.

Upcoming Classes

1/11

In Person

Inspired by Rest as Resistance (Tricia Hersey), Wintering (Katherine May), the Danish practice of Hygge, and the wisdom of Chinese medicine’s seasonal cycles, this circle provides a welcoming, restorative space for writing and connection during Winter’s quieter, darker days.

1/11

Virtual

Core Class is where you find your writing community! This weekly class is a welcoming space with prompts, feedback, and shared listening. Writers may bring any form of writing—from poetry to journaling.

1/18

Virtual

Explore the energy of the New Moon—the energy of letting go and beginning again. The circle is held under the new moon, with a grounding poem, listening, creating, writing, and exploring within ourselves, and sharing with each other.

1/18 - 3/29

Virtual

Poetry doesn’t have to be serious or intimidating. It can be playful, surprising, and deeply your own. Each gathering will introduce a different poetic form.
