NAEA Announces Schools in First Cohort for Model School Program!


NAEA's Exemplary Practices Committee is pleased to announce the schools selected to participate in the National Alternative Education Association’s inaugural cohort on Exemplary Practices. The goal of the cohort model is to support schools/programs as they better educate and work with students in non-traditional learning environments through the adoption and implementation of NAEA’s evidence-based exemplary practices.

Region 7 Monthly Check-In

Region 7 has a monthly Zoom check-in on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:30 CST. This is voluntary and a great way to connect with other alternative educators in our region. Everyone in Region 7 is welcome to attend, please see the zoom link below to join. See you then if you are able to attend.

NAEA Directors Brown and Hayden present at International Education Conference
On Jan 3, NAEA Board members, Dr. Latoya Brown, Region 8, and Dr. Melvin Hayden, Region 4, presented at the Hawaii International Conference on Education. The title of their talk was Increasing Student Engagement During/Post Covid-19: The Use of Bronfenbrenner’s Bioecological Model as a Framework for Effective School, Family, and Community Partnerships in Alternative School Settings. Their participatory action research includes NAEA's Exemplary Practices.
