Holiday Schedule
Calendar
December 31st-January 1st: The Library will close at 3:00pm on Thursday, December 31st, and remain closed through Friday, January 1st, in observance of the Near Year’s holiday. We will reopen on Saturday, January 2nd.
 
January 18th: The Library will be closed on Monday, January 18th, in observance of Martin Luther King Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 19th.

It’s a new year, and you may feel the desire to get organized. Bullet journals can be a great way to organize your schedule, to-do lists, ideas, habit trackers, recipes, and anything else you want to collect and keep track of--all customized in a way that works for you. This month’s take-out kit contains a bullet journal guide and some materials to help you start your own bullet journal.

Join us for a Live Facebook event with Simply Creative Chef Rob Scott. This is a wonderful family event where everyone can make an appetizer, entree, and dessert with Chef Rob.

In this first event of the Winter Food Festival, Chef Rob will make Italian bread stick salad with fresh basil and vegetables, grandma style spaghetti pie, and crustless apple crumb pie. Click the button below to access the recipes.

A new resource will be available in the Children's Room on January 4th. Stop by and check out one of our new storytime kits!

Each themed kit contains 3 books, an activity card, and a craft. We have 20 different themes, including trucks, dinosaurs, cats, dogs, birthdays, farms, and more.
Saturday Storytime Stroll

Fun for families with kids ages 3–9
 
To participate, walk around the outside of the Library and read the pages of the book we have posted up around the building. At the end of your walk, stop by the Children’s Activity Room’s outer door to get a surprise.

Stop in to take a look at our new shelf of vintage books, which may be of interest.

We will also be having a sale on cookbooks during the month of January. Tired of the same old recipes? It's a great time to try something new. All hardcover cookbooks are $1.00, and softcover cookbooks are only 50 cents this month.

Donations of fiction and nonfiction books are being accepted in small quantities (6 maximum per day) due to volunteer availability. Please, no textbooks or VHS and cassette tapes.

Take Home Kids Crafts
Visit Union Public Library during the months of January and February, and take home a winter-themed craft kit for children ages 3 to 10. 

The kit will include a variety of simple crafts, family games and collaborations, coloring pages, jokes and riddles, etc.
