Preparing for Sunday
Prayer of Commitment
(inspired by 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13)
Lord,
Because love is patient…
Help me to be slow to judge, but quick to listen,
hesitant to criticize, but eager to encourage,
remembering your endless patience with me.
Because love is kind…
Help my words to be gentle and my actions to be thoughtful. Remind me to smile and to say “Please” and “Thank You” because those little things still mean so much.

The Highland Hamper
This week we made the monthly delivery to Highland Avenue taking pasta & sauce, soups, vegetables and canned meats. They were so grateful especially in light of the cold snap. Please continue to donate the basics (veggies, soup, peanut butter, etc) and for the next two weeks (Feb 3rd to Feb 10th) we'll focus on canned fruit and applesauce. As always, thank you so much for your support.

Souper Bowl Sales, Music, and LEGO Creation
This Sunday is Souper Bowl Sunday! Starting at 9:30 a.m., children and youth will have a short music rehearsal for when they sing
Jesus Loves Me on February 17...the Sunday after Valentines Day.
After music practice, the children will finish assembling the final jars to sell to benefit our food cupboard partners. Last week we talked about Jesus teaching us to feed the hungry, so we ask for your generous support. We recommend a minimum donation of $10 for our bean soup mix with pasta and spices. Jars will be out after the 8 and 10 a.m. services and in Bolingbroke for the Chili Cook-off.
After jar assembly we will continue in the large Sunday School room with our Bible interpretations using Legos.
Please bring your Sunday School-aged children and youth (3 and older) to join us at 9:30 a.m. Younger children are welcome to join Megan in the nursery, also beginning at 9:30. Please contact
Ms. Deb
if you have suggestions or questions.
