The Highland Hamper

We continue to collect non-perishable food items for our neighbors on Highland Avenue. This week we will concentrate on canned meats (tuna, chicken & everyone's favorite SPAM!), but please also check the sales while you are shopping because we need everything - vegetables, soup, peanut butter, jelly, "one box" prepared meals, etc. The Hamper is located in The Gurley Room. Soup Jar Assembly and LEGO Creation

Souper Bowl Sunday is coming soon! This Sunday children will learn more about helping others who don’t have enough to eat, as we assemble jars with soup ingredients. The children will then sell soup jars after services at both St. Martin's and Christ Church on February 3rd.

After jar assembly we will continue with our Bible interpretations using Legos. Please bring your Sunday School-aged children and youth (3 and older) to join us at 9:30 a.m. in the large Sunday School room. Younger children are welcome to join Megan in the nursery, also beginning at 9:30. Please contact Ms. Deb if you have suggestions or questions.

Be a Champion over Hunger!

Super Bowl Sunday is not only a day to enjoy a football championship game, but it's also a day when anyone can be a "hunger-fighting" champion by contributing to the Souper Bowl. The youth of St. Martin's and Christ Church will once again be selling soup mixes to benefit the Great Valley and Ardmore Food Cupboards. Purchases may be made on February 3rd before or after the church services and during the Chili Cook-Off event in Bolingbroke.

Bring your appetite!

The 21st Annual Chili Cook-off will happen this year as always after the 10 AM service at Bolingbroke on February 3rd. It's the perfect prelude to the Super Bowl Game later that day.

Contestants and attendees can sign-up in the Gurley Room. In addition to a list of the entrants, the sign-up sheet provides space for donations of beverages, salads, bread, desserts, etc.

First, second, and third place winners will be determined by vote of the Cook-Off attendees by secret ballot, and incredible prizes will be awarded!

Please Note: Due to the space needed for the Cook-Off in Bolingbroke, both the 8 and 10 AM services will be held in church.

On Wednesdays in January, the Parallel Gospel Bible Study continues at Christ Church, Ithan. All adults, newcomers as well as previous participants, are welcome. Books are provided. The discussion starts at 7pm in the parish hall. For more information contact Deb Parker.

Breathe, stretch, and destress!

The next St. Martin’s yoga class will be February 5th at 6:30 p.m. Sessions are a mix of spiritual awareness and physical activity. Effort is emphasized over achievement and pose modifications are encouraged to strengthen individual balance. Classes conclude by resting in stillness - the perfect opportunity for a prayer of gratitude. Come and enjoy this mind-body-soul experience!

The Upper Room

St. Martin’s Church, Radnor and Christ Church, Ithan host “The Upper Room”, a mid-week conversational gathering for the community at the Gryphon Cafe, 105 W Lancaster Ave, Wayne. There will be a different topic for the 2nd & 4th Wednesday get-togethers that are from 6:00-7:00 PM. All are welcome, so bring a friend to share, learn, and enjoy! A light dinner will be provided. Ample parking is available in the nearby Santander Bank lot.

Good News!

The Episcopal Church began a new Bible Study called "The Good Book" club. The readings began January 7, and invite us to read a portion of the Letter of Paul to the Romans each day (except Sundays). Some are reading solo as part of a personal Epiphany spiritual practice, while others are finding another person to call, Facetime, text, email or otherwise read simultaneously. Near or far we can connect to explore the book of Romans. Additional details can be found at the following websites:
