CITE is Celebrating our 65th Anniversary!

Executive Director, Andrea Bennett, shares her inCITEs about our 65th Anniversary.

This year, as CITE’s 65th year became reality, I found myself reflecting even further back than the last 12 months. I became the CITE Executive Director in July 2006. Technology in schools was not used in the classroom and IT staff supported the district office business systems and the student information system. Those were easy days, looking back now.

Since then, well, you all know what’s happened. Classroom technology is essential. We still support the business office and the SIS, but now every other app and every piece of technology, including but not limited to printers, copiers, projectors, signs, security, cameras, lights, and even sprinklers. It can get overwhelming for sure.

That is why CITE exists. Our members are engaged. We communicate in so many ways to help each other do what we can to help educate students through the use of technology. Our programs continue to provide education, resources, and services that help LEAs in so many ways.

We have so much to celebrate, and we are already planning some special events throughout the year as well as another amazing conference. Stay tuned into CITE as we release more information.

Thank you to our members, partners, and sponsors. I am looking forward to experiencing CITE’s 65th year with everyone.
