We're looking forward to seeing everyone back on campus tomorrow! We hope you had a relaxing Christmas break!

A Message from Campus Ministry:

Dear Carondelet Community,

Happy New Year! As we approach the beginning of a new year, we reflect on the ways we wish to grow and open ourselves to new possibilities. This spring semester, there are many experiences outside of the classroom that can challenge your student to embrace diverse experiences and perspectives. Our Ven a Ver program, which are justice-focused immersion trips, helps our students act courageously in their advocacy for a more socially-just world.

At the end of last semester, 10 students participated in Ven a Ver DC, where they attended the Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice. Over this three-day conference, our students heard from experts and theologians about our responsibility to respond to the needs of our times. Students also met with Congressman Mark Desaulnier’s office to advocate for dignity-affirming immigration and environmental policies.

In just a few short months, Campus Ministry will be launching a new Ven a Ver immersion trip. Ven a Ver Chicago will focus on social justice issues such as homelessness, food insecurity, incarceration, education, and immigration. Students will volunteer with local partner agencies, reflect on injustices and their root causes, and create action plans to address those injustices. For this school year, this trip will be offered in partnership with De La Salle.

Ven a Ver is an invitation to 'come and see' the world through a different lens. It’s a chance to build community, encounter new realities, and start this year with a deeper sense of purpose. Learn more about all our spring Ven a Ver immersion trips here.

Peace and every good,

Vanessa Miranda, M.Div.

Returning to Campus

Attendance Reminders

Regular attendance is essential for student learning, success, and community building. Our goal is for all students to strive for 90% attendance, which is 8 full-day absences or fewer and 5 class absences or fewer throughout the semester. At the same time, student health and safety come first. Please keep your child home if they are sick, especially if they have a fever or significant respiratory symptoms. Thank you for partnering with us to support both consistent attendance and a healthy school community.

Dress Uniform Day This Friday

Friday will be a dress uniform day in honor of our Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Service.

Uniform Enforcement

Following our Student Handbook expectations, including wearing the proper uniform, is an important way we show respect and commitment to our community values. If you need more information about our uniform program, please visit our Uniform Information webpage.

We want to partner with parents and guardians to ensure all students meet uniform expectations this semester. Please take a moment to check in with your student(s) and confirm that they have the appropriate uniform pieces ready for school. This includes a Lands’ End or Dennis Uniform skirt that falls below their finger tips.

To help maintain our standards:

  • Multiple uniform violations will result in a 30-minute detention and parent notification.
  • In certain cases, students may also be asked to change in the Deans’ Office to ensure compliance with the dress code.

We appreciate your support and understanding as we work together to uphold our community values.

"Year at a Glance" Calendars

“Year at a Glance” calendars for the next two school years, 2026–27 and 2027–28, are now available. These calendars include dates for the start and end of the year, school holidays, Faculty/Staff professional development (PD) days, select key events, and school breaks.

Academic Updates

Course Selection & Academic Planning for 2026–27

We are beginning course planning for the 2026–27 school year with a refreshed process that gives students a more active role in shaping their schedules. Students will use their transcript, a new prerequisite guide, and a Schoology planning tool to draft course selections, followed by an individual meeting with their college counselor. More details were shared last week via email.

Next week, students will also have two key opportunities to explore academic options:

  • Elective Fair (Wed. Jan 14; Block Lunch): An opportunity to learn about Carondelet’s elective offerings across departments.
  • AP Open House (Fri. Jan. 16; X-Period): Required for students planning to take AP courses; all students are welcome.

Event details will be shared in Schoology. We encourage families to ask students about what they learn as they begin planning for next year.
