Community E-News l 01.12.25

We're looking forward to seeing everyone back on campus tomorrow! We hope you had a relaxing Christmas break!

A Message from the President:

Dear Carondelet Community,

We hope that you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break filled with relaxation, joy, and cherished moments together. As we step into the new year, we warmly welcome you back to campus and look forward to a fantastic start to the remainder of the school year!

However, we return with heavy hearts as we witness the ongoing devastation caused by the firestorms in Los Angeles County. Our Sisters at Carondelet Center have been safely evacuated, and are being well cared for. Many of our sister schools—St. Joseph High School, St. Mary Academy, and Mount St. Mary's University—are experiencing profound loss within their communities. Some have lost homes, while others have been deeply impacted by this tragedy.

As a faith-filled community, let us stand in prayerful solidarity with them, lifting our voices to God for strength, protection, and healing. We invite you to join us in prayer:

A PRAYER FOR THOSE AFFECTED

God of Compassion, we pray for all our brothers and sisters facing devastation in the path of the firestorms in Los Angeles County.

We pray for their safety as they evacuate, may they be received with warm hospitality.

We pray for their restoration as they leave their homes, not knowing if they will find it intact upon their return.

And we pray for the individuals who have lost their lives and for their loved ones who mourn.

Mighty God, protect and strengthen the firefighters working tirelessly to put out the fires.

Bless the first responders helping those in danger and the injured, and bless the utility and public workers.

God of Mercy, soften our hearts so that we may encounter our sisters and brothers who have lost everything with empathy, charity, and unifying love.

Amen.

Together, let us carry the charism of unifying love and compassion that defines our Carondelet legacy as we support our wider community in these challenging times.

Blessings,

Uniform Enforcement

Following our Student Handbook expectations (including wearing the proper uniform), is an important way we show respect and commitment to our community values. If you need more information about our uniform program, please visit our website.

We want to partner with parents and guardians to ensure all students meet uniform expectations this semester. Please take a moment to check in with your student(s) and confirm that they have the appropriate uniform pieces ready for school.

To help maintain our standards:

  • Multiple uniform violations will result in a 30-minute detention and parent notification.
  • In certain cases, students may also be asked to change by the Dean of Students’ team to ensure compliance with the dress code.

We appreciate your support and understanding as we work together to uphold our community values.

The Power of Her

Power of Her

Q: When is an old, underutilized locker room not an old, underutilized locker room?

A: When it’s transformed into a world-class Performance Center!

Carondelet has been in the quiet phase of the Power of Her Campaign to completely transform our locker room space. This state-of-the-art facility will include a Movement Studio, Locker Lounge, Powder Room (with showers), Main Campus Training Room, and a Walkout Tunnel. We are SO excited to share details and invite our community to be a part of this wonderful and much-needed project.
