PRESENTATIONS

A. Lisa Campbell, Assistant Superintendent, and Mark Melton, Executive Director of Secondary Education, recognized this year’s Site Teacher of the Year honorees during the Board meeting. Each educator was celebrated for the daily commitment they bring to classrooms and the lasting influence they have on students across the district.

The 2026 Site Teacher of the Year honorees include Charity Lane at ECC, Jennifer Shipley at Piedmont Elementary, Misti Moon at Northwood, Shannon Elliott at Stone Ridge, Keith Hatchett at Piedmont Intermediate, Traci North at Middle School of Piedmont, and Shelly Thomas at Piedmont High School. PPS board members expressed appreciation for the time, care, and heart these teachers invest in students and for the role they play in shaping what makes Piedmont such a strong school community.

BUSINESS ITEMS

A. The board approved a phone hardware and monthly service agreement with Travis Voice and Data in the amount of $3,465.50 per month from the general fund. District leadership noted the current provider is not meeting operational needs. Transitioning to a local company will improve support and service while generating an estimated savings of approximately $300 per month.

CONSENT AGENDA

The board approved all consent agenda items A-I.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Jennifer Fuller, Chief Financial Officer, provided a comprehensive financial report to the board.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

The board did not convene into executive session.

ACTION ITEM

A. The board approved employment as listed on Attachment C, including the appointment of Stephanie Hodges as principal of the new Stone Ridge Intermediate and Brett Cannon as assistant principal.

NEW BUSINESS

There was no new business.

SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

Dr. Eichelberger shared several district updates during his report, beginning with congratulations to Stephanie Hodges on her appointment as the first principal of Stone Ridge Intermediate.

He also recognized January as Board Member Appreciation Month, noting the time and commitment board members volunteer to provide oversight for the district, approve policies, purchases, and employment, and work together as a cohesive, supportive team. He emphasized that board members serve because they are invested in maintaining an excellent school district. Thank you to our incredible board members!

Dr. Eichelberger reported a net gain of five students in January enrollment, with year-over-year growth continuing. Numbers reflect an increase of 112 students from January 2025.

He also congratulated the site Teachers of the Year, describing them as representatives of the very best in Piedmont who work tirelessly on behalf of all students.

He closed by highlighting the Piedmont Focus monthly report and the many positive things happening across the district.
