Christian Unity Prayer Service

The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins Wednesday, January 18. During this time, we reflect on the prayer of our Lord Jesus, recorded in John 17:21, “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

You are invited to join us on Thursday, January 19 at 7:00pm at Hope Lake Weir Campus for a Christian Unity Prayer Service.

Second Annual Chili Cook-Off

to benefit Camp E-Nini-Hassee

It's time to spice things up! Join your friends at Hope on Wednesday, January 25 at 4:30pm at Hope Central Campus for our second annual Chili Cook-Off Contest.

This year, we are supporting Camp E-Nini-Hassee. Camp E-Nini-Hassee was established in Floral City in 1969 by Jack and Ruth Eckerd to provide an outdoor therapeutic program for troubled teenage girls (ages 12-18).

Are you interested in participating in the contest? If you would like to participate and enter your favorite chili recipe/crock pot dinner, email Debbie Bennett at debbie@hope4all.church before January 20. Provide your name and phone number and state if your recipe is mild, medium, or hot chili. If you participate in the contest, the $5.00 will be waived. This is your last chance to enter the cook-off!

Ready to chow down on some delicious chili? The cost for dinner is $5.00. Additionally, we encourage you to either make a monetary donation to Camp E-Nini-Hassee or to donate the following items: shampoo/condition (full size), body wash (full size), toothbrush/toothpaste, bug spray, sanitary pads/tampons, adult coloring books and colored pens/pencils, composition books (no rings), stationery, stamps, and seeds for gardening (herbs or flowers). Donations can be brought to Hope Central Campus.

Registration to attend the cookoff will be done like social suppers via our website hope4all.church. Registration will open on Thursday, January 19 and the deadline will be January 23 at Noon.

texture-graphic-community.jpg

Get ready for a brand new experience at your church! H.O.P.E. University presents "New Creations," a multi-generational one-day Vacation Bible School at Hope Lake Weir Campus!

New Creations will include food, games, a time of holiness, and a service project - creating a new Painted Rock Garden and a Butterfly Garden at Hope Lake Weir Campus.

Welcome New Food Pantry Operations Manager

For several years, the Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry has been managed by an incredible team of volunteers and led by Tonia Brock and Anita Dillman. These ladies have dedicated countless hours, personal funds, and lots of love to our pantry, serving hundreds of families each week. We are deeply grateful for their continued service.

As the Food Pantry has continued to grow and flourish, it has become necessary to hire a staff member to oversee the administration of the pantry. We are excited to welcome Debbie Schuettler as our new Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry Operations Manager.

Debbie and her husband have been volunteering with the food pantry since 2020. Debbie has also served as an Administrative Volunteer in the Hope office for more than two years. She and her husband feel called by God to serve Hope Lutheran Church and give abundantly of their time and talents to our church.

Debbie's first priority is communication; she hopes to update all contact information for the pantry as her first major project. This is an excellent time for new volunteers to express an interest and get their contact information on our volunteer records.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry, we have a variety of opportunities for you! Some potential roles include:

  • Delivering food to Hope Lake Weir Campus on Mondays. This requires lifting, unpacking, and checking food.
  • Greeting, packing, and other activities on Thursdays during operating hours.
  • Shopping for items and delivering them to Hope Central Campus or Hope Lake Weir Campus.

We also are seeking a truck to use for transporting items to and from the Food Pantry. If you know of anyone wishing to donate a truck or offer one for sale at a reasonable price, please let us know.

Ready to volunteer? Have a truck to offer? For any Food Pantry inquires, please contact Debbie directly at debs@hope4all.church.
