Free Screening of The Weight They Carry

Join Not One More Vet (NOMV)'s virtual screening of the 11-minute film The Weight They Carry and a panel discussion afterwards about mental health in the vet field and what we can do about it.

The panel will include film participant and veterinarian Dr. Kathy Gervais, NOMV director of VMHS, Dr. Katie Lawlor, film director Grace Galletti and NOMV director of outreach, Danny Rosenmund, moderated by Gigi Tsontos, NOMV executive director.

The Weight They Carry, directed by Grace Galletti and Zhiwei Feng, explores the nationwide mental health crisis that veterinarians are experiencing. Through the eyes of compassionate and seasoned vet, Kathy Gervais, the film brings viewers into the heart of a busy veterinarian practice where life and death decisions are made constantly. Although as Kathy shows us, it's not just our furry friends whose lives are at stake. To learn more about the film, visit here.

Veterinary Public Health Education

The Alliance of Veterinary Public Health Educators, Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine are partnering with other veterinary public health educators to better identify concepts in veterinary public health that should be included in core veterinary curriculum.

Organizers are looking for 160 early career veterinarians (2-10 years, post-graduation) in a web-based, two-stage Delphi survey. Veterinarians desired to participate can work in a variety of areas, including private practice (all species), industry and public practice (government, non-profit).
