CDC Releases Guidance on Returning to In-Person Learning

The CDC has updated its COVID-19 page for Schools and Child Care Programs. Among the recent additions are documents regarding returning to in-person learning including a K-12 Mitigation Toolkit, School Walkthrough Guide, How Do I Set Up My Classroom? guide, and checklists for Teachers and Staff Resuming In-Person Learning.
ISBE Shares IDPH COVID-19 Exclusion Guidance Decision Tree

The Illinois State Board of Education has added new resources to their Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates and Resources page, including adding a link to the Illinois Department of Public Health's COVID-19 Interim Exclusion Guidance Decision Tree for Symptomatic Individuals in Pre-K, K-12 Schools and Day Care Programs (Spanish version).
Radon Action Month

January is Radon Action Month. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. To increase awareness and encourage individuals to test for radon, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency and the American Lung Association have once again partnered up to promote two statewide contests for students. The Radon Video Contest is for high school students and the Radon Poster Contest is for middle school students. Both contests have cash prizes. For more information on radon, testing, and the contests, click here.
