Unity in a Nutshell #2:
"Made in the Image"
Sunday, January 20, 2019
11am, Rev. Anne Tabor

In our second Unity principle, we take a closer look at our True Nature. We each have a spark of the Christ Spirit within us. Our very essence is of God and therefore we are inherently good. This idea can be a real challenge theologically... especially since we do not always behave this way! Yet, if the Presence of God exists in all things, then how could we be anything but divine? Join Rev. Anne as she continues her five-part Sunday Message Series, "Unity in a Nutshell 2019," and we explore how we are each created in original blessing.

Unity in a Nutshell #3:
"Hold That Thought"
Sunday, January 27, 2019
11am, Rev. Anne Tabor

In our third spiritual principle, the Law of Mind Action teaches us that we create our experiences by the activity of our thinking. We say, "Thoughts held in mind produce after their kind" which is another way of saying, "What we focus on expands in our lives." This is an essential law by which the entire universe operates! Join Rev. Anne for part three of her Sunday Message Series, "Unity in a Nutshell 2019," and find out how your creative power of thought weaves together the tapestry of your life.

Become a Unity Prayer Chaplain

Have you been hearing an inner voice nudging you to serve in the Prayer Chaplain Ministry here at Unity of Arlington, but you're concerned you don't know how to go about this? All it takes is a willingness to follow that nudge. We'll lovingly assist you to do the rest.
  • No prior experience in praying with others is required to serve as a Prayer Chaplain.
  • Prayer Chaplain Training will be provided here at Unity of Arlington which will prepare you for your next step in your spiritual journey.
  • You must be an active member of Unity of Arlington to serve as Prayer Chaplain.
This Sunday, January 20, following the Sunday Service, a short Orientation Session will be held in the Garden Lane Center. An overview of the Prayer Chaplain Program, training requirements, and time commitments will be covered at this meeting. (This meeting is mandatory for those wishing to pursue becoming a part of this ministry).

There is a brochure available with information or you can reach out to Prayer Chaplain Co-Leaders NaOra Horton at naora@aol.com , or Rebecca Rickey at Rebecca.rickey@yahoo.com .

So, should you have an inner urging to becoming a Prayer Chaplain and serve in this sacred way, just let Rev. Anne, NaOra, or Rebecca know and join us at the Orientation Session on January 20.

5th Annual Pet Supply Collection
Sunday, January 20, 2019

Daily Paws is excited to join with Nancy May for the 5th annual Party for Pets (Pet Supply Collection). We are blessed by the pets in our lives and want to be a blessing to our pets and all animals. Four years ago Nancy May requested her SpiritGroup donate to the Arlington Animal Shelter for her birthday. It has since turned into an annual charity event.

Let's show everyone at Arlington Animal Services what big hearts we have and how much we love animals. Let's show them our support as they work to find homes for stray dogs and cats (so they don't all end up at Rev. Anne's home!) They do wonderful work and can use our help. We will be collecting items on Sunday, January 20th. Bring your donation to the church and put it in the designated bins in the lobby. The donated items will be delivered to Arlington Animal Services.

Here is the list of requested items:

Newspapers
Bleach
Distilled white vinegar
Dawn dish soap
Windex
Paper towels
Canned kitten food (paté only)
Canned puppy food (paté only)-Authority brand
Washable cat and dog toys (Kong toys only. No chew toys.)

Old towels, blankets, pet beds, food bowls, etc., are also needed.

You can also make a monetary donation. Make checks payable to Arlington Animal Services. Put in an envelope and give to Dwain or Nancy May.

For more information on the Pet Supply Collection contact Nancy May.

For more information on how to be involved with Daily Paws Animal Ministry connect with Rev. Anne.

Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking
a deeper understanding of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life.  Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!

Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES

Principle #1:
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life,
God the Good.

Principle #2:
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.

Principle #3:
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

Principle #4:
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

Principle #5:
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.

CORE VALUES

Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in  all we do.

Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to
see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole
human family.

Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity,
we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.

Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.

Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.

Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.

Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
