Quarterly WSAE Program Making Technology Work for You Friday, Feb. 7, Madison 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Speaker was one of Inc. Magazine's
"30 Under 30: World's Coolest Entrepreneurs"
Santiago Jaramillo, CEO and a founder of Bluebridge Digital, a mobile-apps-as-a-service company, will help you learn what you need to know to connect and engage using today's technology tools.
Join us for Connect and Engage: Making Technology Work for You, Feb. 7 at The Madison Club in Madison.
During the first part of the educational program we'll focus on what you need to know to help you, the association executive, thrive in a busier world. After lunch, we'll shift gears as we discuss how to use mobile for member engagement.
We've also invited our technology-based industry partners to showcase their products/services throughout the program, and during lunch and networking breaks. As a bonus for registrants, we'll be giving away a limited number of complimentary private consulting sessions with Jaramillo and Bluebridge Digital co-founder Adam Weber. These will take place after the formal program concludes. Instructions for entering are located on the event page.

Activities for SIGs
From the WSAE Open Forum
Patrick Snyder, IOM, executive director of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, recently shared the following document on the WSAE Open Forum. It covers productive activities for shared interest groups.
He writes, "Shared Interest Groups - or SIGs - are communities of USASBE members with common interests that join together to network, educate and share best practices. SIGs meet virtually, whether by teleconference, webinar, Listserv, or through other social media, and they meet in person at USASBE events and the Annual Conference." Our thanks to Patrick for this helpful info. Have additional ideas? Comment on this post in the Open Forum of www.wsae.org. Productive SIG Activities
- Recruit: It starts with having a large pool of wisdom so grow your SIG!
- Once a month go-arounds with best practices and benchmarking. These are meant to be "brag sessions," so bring your best ideas, share and learn.
- Create events: Plan content based events that are interesting to your SIG membership. You can hold these events:
- Via conference call
- Webinar
- At the annual conference
- Regional
- National (big ideas needed here)
- Create a Sig Newsletter: Written by members, for members and for the good of the entire group
- Create SIG based student competitions and include Colleges and Universities
- Hold "collaboration summits" Allows colleagues to work together on research
- Poster and other competitions: This allows you to recognize leaders in your SIG
