New Village Directories Now Available!
The 2016 Village Directory is hot off the presses and available to Wind Point residents at the Village Office for the price of $6 each. The directory includes names and phone numbers for most addresses in the Village, as well as other important contacts and information. If you ever have any updates or corrections to report for the directory, email windpointcommunityclub@gmail.com. Thank you to Sherry Heck and the Wind Point Community Club for producing a very spiffy new directory!
Property Tax Payments Due on January 31
The first installment (or full payment) of property taxes is due by January 31. Payments may be made by mail, drop-box or in-person at the Village Office. Payments may also be made at the Johnson Bank on Three Mile Rd. After January 31, all tax payments must go to the Racine County Treasurer's Office.

If you need another copy of your tax bill, we can print you a copy at the Village Office or you can obtain a copy online from the  Racine County Land Records System . Locate your property and, using the "Select Detail" drop-down menu, select "Taxes." Locate "Print Tax Bills" and click on the 2015 link.
Dog License Renewals
Dog owners are reminded that it is state law to license your dog each year before April 1. The dog license fee is $15 for neutered or spayed dogs and $35 for unaltered dogs. A dog license application, along with the license fee and copy of rabies certificate, can be submitted to the Village Office by mail, drop-box or in-person. If submitting by mail or drop-box, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the tag and receipt to be returned to you. The fine for an unlicensed dog after April 1 is $187.00.
Christmas Tree Disposal
Village maintenance staff will pick up Christmas trees and wreaths left at the edge of the road during the month of January. Please remove lights, ornaments and other items before leaving them out. You do not need to call to arrange a pick-up, but you can notify our maintenance staff by calling 639-3560.

Yard Waste & Branch Collections - Just a reminder that yard waste and branch collection services have concluded for the season. Yard waste collection will resume the first Monday of April and the first branch collection of 2016 will be the second Tuesday of April.
New Fire/EMS Service Provider
Caledonia Fire Department begins providing fire and emergency medical services to the Village of Wind Point on January 1. Residents can expect the same high level of service that we have received from the Racine Fire Department. Caledonia's crew is very familiar with Wind Point, but it is still important to make sure your home's address number is clearly displayed and visible from the street in case of an emergency.

If you have any questions or concerns about fire or EMS services, you can reach the Caledonia Fire Department administrative office at 835-2050. The non-emergency dispatch line will still be 886-2300 and for emergencies, dial 911.
Stormwater Utility Fee Increase
The Village Board adopted the 2016 Stormwater Utility budget with an increase to the stormwater utility fee. The base fee will increase from $8.50 to $9.46 per equivalent residential unit (ERU). It is the first increase to the base fee since the utility was created in 2008. The typical single-family house with 1 ERU will see an increase of $0.96 to the stormwater utility portion of their quarterly water bill beginning with the first quarter bills that are mailed out in March.

The 2016 Village Budget was adopted on November 12. The full budget document is now available to view online by clicking here.

The budget document serves as a planning tool for financial issues and priorities during the coming year. It includes 10-year capital improvement plans for Village roads, equipment and lighthouse improvements. The budget incorporates criteria recommended by the Government Finance Officers Association's Distinguished Budget Presentation Program.
Park Planning Update

The plan is based on input received from resident questionnaires, a public workshop on September 16 and Parks & Facilities Committee meetings. The final plan is expected to be presented to the Village Board for consideration at their meeting on February 11.

Ayres Associates is also preparing concept plans for Village path connectivity and the lighthouse grounds, which are expected to be presented on February 11 as well. All of the plan graphics will be posted on the project webpage as soon as they are available. A special E-News announcement will be sent out when they are posted. Thank you to all who have participated in the process to this point!
