Happy New Year! We are ready to work with you again in 2016!
Our Charlemagne event is coming up on February 5
th. The invitations have just been sent out, so please mark your calendars and plan to attend our most prestigious event. We look forward to honoring our businesses in several categories as well as the winner of community volunteerism who has dedicated their life to making St. Charles a better place.
Take advantage of our opportunity to meet over 1000 people attending our 3
rd Annual Business to Consumer Expo on April 16
th. We have early bird opportunities to sign up as a vendor. As with last year, we had over 80 businesses representing restaurants, healthcare, financial, and home improvements. Bring your family to enjoy live entertainment, bouncy houses, interactive sports, taste samplings of our restaurants, and learn more about the services our members provide. For more information regarding sponsorships or a vendor booth, please contact Amanda Lutz.
As many have heard from our new Board Chairman, Craig Larsen, through requests of our member survey, we will be hosting a series of educational workshops on Marketing throughout the year. We look forward to providing this series.
As a reminder, if you would like to find out more information about joining one of our committees, please let me know. So many people have great ideas and can enhance our goals.
Please contact the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce if you have any questions.

A Word from the Board - Craig Larsen
|
As Chairman of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, I see firsthand the amount of time, effort, and resources businesses and organizations invest to improve their business. These improvements not only benefit their business, but add to the existing appeal of the greater St. Charles area and making it an even greater place to live, work and locate business.
Every year, we honor businesses and organizations that have made major improvements to their business and volunteered their time to the St. Charles community at our prestigious Charlemagne Awards Dinner on February 5
th 2016. At this event, we also honor an individual who has made a lifetime of achievements and has dedicated their time, efforts, and talent to the St. Charles Community. If you haven't already registered make sure to do so soon. The deadline is January 22
nd, 2016
The Chamber has achieved our goals in 2015. This success was achieved through the hard work of our Chamber board, members, and especially our staff. However, we cannot be just satisfied with where we are today. To get a better of our members' needs we conducted a survey of our membership in late 2015.
We learned was that the number one area where our members needed support was with marketing. To meet that need we will be introducing a Marketing Series in 2016. This series will help you refine your marketing efforts and I encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to make sure you reserve your spot in this program.
We will also begin the process of continual strategic planning, with the goal of focusing on where we want to be 3 to 5 years down the road. We need to continually work to meet the needs of you and the entire community as they change over time to make sure we continue to serve you to the best of our ability.
Thank you for your past and continued support as the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce continues to serve our members and community and I hope to see you at our 94 annual Charlemagne Awards dinner!

St. Charles Chamber Holiday Party was a wonderful time; good people, great location, and amazing food. Thank you to Dunham Woods Riding Club for allowing us to have the event at the picture perfect location for such a Holiday Party.
The Women's Business Council hosted the event that was sponsored by BEI Properties. With twinkling lights decorating the inside and out, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra was kind enough to volunteer their services and provided our members with the beautiful music from a pianist and violist.
Bill Johnson, from BMO Harris, was the winner of the WBC's 50/50 Raffle for the night! Thank you to everyone who came to mix and mingle on this festive night!

Thank You for Donating to Our Giving Tree
Thank you to everyone who selected tags and donated gifts for the City Hall Giving Tree. Because of your overwhelming generosity, we were able to deliver gifts in time for the holidays to Elderday Center and local children from the St. Charles school district. In fact, our vehicle was literally stuffed with gifts!
A total of 24 children from three schools each received gifts of warm clothing, books, a fleece blanket and a toy. Three children also received donated bikes and a homeless family of four received $575 in gift cards. The Elderday Center received a healthy stock of cooking, crafting and cleaning supplies.
We appreciate everyone's generosity. A strong sense of community is alive and well in St. Charles!
