Guzman shoots the cast of Hidden Figures for Parade

Guzman, the award-winning husband and wife photography duo, came to Toronto during TIFF 2016 to shoot the amazing women starring in Hidden Figures for Parade Magazine; Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae and Octavia Spencer. Hidden Figures is currently in theatres.
Tim Palen shoots the stars of La La Land

While in town promoting the film La La Land for TIFF 2016, photographer Tim Palen shot the cast of the phenomenally successful film. Images from the shoot have recently appeared on the covers of numerous international publications, including Men's Style Australia and 8 Days from Singapore. Andrew Eccles shoots the cast of Schitt's Creek for Vanity Fair

Well known photographer Andrew Eccles was back in town to shoot the cast of the super successful and hilarious Canadian television show Schitt's Creek for a story in Vanity Fair Magazine. Season Three of Schitt's Creek is now airing on CBC, Tuesdays at 9pm.

Rodolfo Martinez and Gavin Bond shoot the new SyFy show Incorporated

Photographers Rodolfo Martinez and Gavin Bond were in Toronto to shoot the gallery for the new SyFy show Incorporated. This futuristic show about corporations with unlimited power, airs in Canada on Showcase, Wednesday nights at 10pm.

Justin Stephens shoots the poster for People of Earth

Celebrity and entertainment photographer Justin Stephens came to town to shoot the cast of the new comedy series People of Earth, a show about a support group for people who believe they were abducted by aliens. The show aired in the US on TBS last fall, and will be airing in Canada soon.

Steve Wilkie shoots the gallery for Ransom

Toronto based photographer Steve Wilkie shot the gallery for the new television show Ransom. Ransom follows a crisis and hostage negotiator and his team who solve kidnapping and ransom cases. It is currently on Global Wednesday nights at 8pm.

Adobe is Building a Siri-like Assistant for Editing Photos with Your Voice

Intelligent virtual assistants like Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa are quickly picking up skills and popularity. But what if your Adobe apps had a similar feature? What if Adobe designed a virtual assistant that would let you edit photos using voice commands?
The Adobe Research team is working on just that, and they created a video to "envision" the future and show off what their AI assistant can already do.

5 Short Docs Shot Entirely on Smartphones

In 2012, the late filmmaker  Malik Bendjelloul released the first feature length film to be partially shot on the iPhone: the Academy Award-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man . More recently, the drama Tangerine  made huge waves at the Sundance  Film Festival for how it was masterfully shot entirely on an iPhone. Yet, despite these successes, the majority of feature documentaries are still shot on more expensive, professional cameras. These five short docs prove that you don't need an expensive camera to shoot successful films.

Is Adobe's Project VoCo the Photoshop for Audio?

Adobe has a project in development as part of a collaboration with Princeton University, which has been described as having the potential to do for audio what Photoshop does for photography.  Essentially, the software will allow you to add words to your audio recording that were never recorded. If one of your actors gives a reading that proves to be just a little  off, you may now be able to tweak it, adding or replacing a word that doesn't originally appear in the audio file.

Photographer Mario Testino Gives a Tour of His Museum in Peru

Peruvian fashion and portrait photographer Mario Testino recently gave a tour of his museum in Lima, Peru to Hamish Bowles, the editor for the American edition of Vogue magazine. Testino appears to have recorded this short video tour on a just a cell phone, but he briefly takes you through each room of his museum, MATE , which first opened in 2012, but was just recently renovated.

Earliest known Nikon camera fetches over $400,000 USD in Austrian auction

A Nikon 1 camera sold at auction in Austria has become the most expensive Nikon ever, achieving a sale price of €384,000 (approx $406,000) - double the expected maximum estimate . The camera, which is said to be only the third Nikon body ever made, is the earliest known surviving Nikon camera having been made in occupied Japan in April 1948. It was matched with the 11th 5cm F2 Nikkor H lens ever made.
