Board of Trustees Nominations

The Nominating and Board Governance Committee is seeking nominations to the Board of Trustees. Recognizing the vital role played by trustees, Academy intends to appoint trustees in a thoughtful and methodical fashion, considering an individual's skill set relative to strategic issues currently facing the school and his or her demonstrated ability to function within the committee process.
School News

Columbus Academy had 116 AP Scholars in 2016, including a record-high 28 National AP Scholars! This year's total included 58 members from the Class of 2016, meaning almost two-thirds of last year's seniors received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams last spring and 40 percent of the entire class qualified as AP Scholars with Distinction.
The latest edition of
Academy magazine should have arrived in mailboxes last month. The fall issue included a recap of Commencement, the Annual Report of Appreciation, class notes and much more! If you did not receive a copy and would like one, or if you would like to request any additional copies, please contact Bob Lee at LeeB@columbusacademy.org .
Sports News

Academy senior Baylee Mueller was one of just four Ohio high school players named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's All-Midwest Region Team! "Baylee has been an outstanding leader for our field hockey program for the past four years," said head coach Anne Horton about the announcement. "Her commitment and passion are key qualities that have elevated her game for national exposure. I am very proud of Baylee and look forward to watching her continue her play at the collegiate level."
Over winter break, our varsity and JV boys basketball teams both won their respective championship games in the Bruin Holiday Tournament hosted by Briggs High School. In the varsity matchup against Briggs, our Vikes came from behind to win 45-43 on a buzzer-beating shot! Earlier in the day, our JV squad won its title by defeating Westland 50-31. Our hoops program should be commended for excelling not just on the court, but also in the classroom and in the community (view photos of them recently volunteering with LifeCare Alliance's Meals-on-Wheels program by clicking here).
