January 2017
Snow was falling,
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was nothing more
than prettiness.

Welcome 2017. As we enter a new year, what will you hold close and what will you release? For me, I will be practicing hygge. I am fascinated by the concept of hygge (pronounced HOO-gah) which is the Danish cultural expression of coziness or contentment. At the core of hygge is mindfulness...bringing awareness to the present moment and savoring the unfolding of the senses in a state of gentle self-care, compassion and warmth. In this time of winter darkness, what better time to look internally and externally to find a sense of comfort and wonder? There are many ways to gently embrace the new year, to enhance a practice of mindfulness, to loosen your grip on what may be tethering you. I hope you will find some tools and inspiration in some of the offerings below -- join us for a Meditation Maintenance Session, sign up for a group Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program or let's craft an individual mindfulness program that meets your needs, share a favorite soup recipe to create a community of comfort, or sample some mindfulness tools by attending a workshop or seminar. Whatever you may choose, I wish you a month of connection, comfort and mindfulness...and I would love to hear how you are practicing hygge!

May you find comfort and hygge in 2017,
Pamela Katz Ressler, MS, RN, HNB-BC

Practicing Hygge in January
I have been considering how we create comfort during challenging times, apparently I am not alone in the urge to cocoon. I recently read an article in the   New York Times on the Danish concept of hygge  (pronounced HOO-gah) which is an all encompassing way of embracing coziness and warmth -- body, mind and spirit.

Check out my blog post on how we can practice hygge together in January.

Strategies for Success
Individualized Mindfulness Training

Let's work together to create an individualized approach to mindfulness that will work for YOU. I work with clients across the country, no need to be in the Boston area.
  • Are you looking for strategies to engage more successfully in your professional life?
  • Would you like an individualized approach to mindfulness?
  • Weekly group classes don't work for your schedule?
  • Are you a "totally Type A person" and cannot fathom how meditation would work for you?
Individual Mindfulness Training  is a unique option offered only by Stress Resources that allows the individual to set the pace for training but maintains the essential framework of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in private or semi-private sessions. Either in my Concord office or conveniently by Skype.

Stress Resources' Individual Mindfulness Training has been successfully taught to entrepreneurs, business leaders, athletes, healthcare professionals, management consultants, teachers, busy parents and students. We work together, mindfully, to meet your needs. What are you waiting for?
