Reunion Group Sponsorship
It’s often wonderful getting to know folks who join our Emmaus community from other communities. They bring new ideas and share what works and what didn’t work for them.
One such idea shared with our community was the idea of Reunion Groups Sponsoring Pilgrims.
My Reunion Group liked the idea, so we started collecting $1 each week. We drafted up a chart to keep track so we’d stay on target. With 5 gals that was $260 before the next walks and just enough to sponsor two Pilgrims, not just one!
We prayed about who God would have us Sponsor, and before long we had our prospective Pilgrims.
I want to encourage Reunion Groups to consider this as a Group Agape gift to our Community. The entire Group can share responsibility of the Sponsorship, or one person can take it. Whatever works for the Group.
It makes it so much easier by collecting only $1 a week. It doesn’t hurt anyone’s pocket book. And what a gift to the new Pilgrim not to have to worry about the financial part!
Our group is still collecting and praying on who our next Pilgrims will be!
