Easing Up! LLC Presents: "Resilience Advantage Workshops"  Two Courses Available in January!
 Presented by Elizabeth Page, HeartMarth(tm), Personal Mentor and Trainer, and owner of Easing Up! LLC.
In this skills-based program, you will learn practical tools and strategies to reduce stress and strengthen resiliency. 1st Course - Tuesday Evenings from 7-9 pm for Six-Weeks from January 10th through February 14th.

Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital Presents:  "Brain Injury Support Group" 3rd Wednesday of each month from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. You are invited to participate in an on-going support group for survivors of brain injuries and strokes. This group is free and open to the public for all survivors and their caregivers. Senior Peer Prevention Program Presents:   Support Groups  WOW (Women of Wisdom), Senior Men, Grief and Loss, Senior LGBTQ, Low Vision, Hearing Loss, Path to Hope Circle, Water Color and Writing Memoire classes. Job Opening Announcement  For: Manager, Senior Peer Prevention Program

The nonprofit West Yavapai Guidance Clinic offers primarily behavioral health treatment and crisis intervention services. However, there is one prevention program offered in a peer model and focused on the emotional health and wellness of persons over age 60. A Manager is being sought for this unique program.

Position Overview:   The Manager oversees all aspects of this prevention program, to include supervision of two staff and dozens of volunteers. This job opportunity is a 30 to 32 hour a week salaried position.

Key Responsibilities:  The Manager's duties include but are not limited to:

*         Creation of trainings for monthly volunteer meetings and the quad city communities in general.
*         Facilitation of support groups when volunteers are unable and when new groups are first started.
*         Staying abreast of latest statistics and trends relative to older adults, in order to recruit volunteers
           and educate the local community on their needs. 

*         Conduct informational interviews for media and others, to raise awareness and educate regarding senior issues, 
*         Maintain relationships with community partners; participate in local health fairs as appropriate;
           provide presentations in various venues; participate in relevant coalitions. 

*         Attend relevant community meetings to outreach to partners and other community agencies. 
*         Contribute to grant proposal development and fundraising as appropriate, being a liaison and
           connector for these funders. 

*         Preparing reports to demonstrate accountability and outcomes, as required by funders. 

Experience/Qualifications: 

  *   Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred, in social service field
  *   Three year experience in management, volunteer management preferred
  *   Demonstrated passion and empathy for older adults and their challenges; able to accept them "where they are"
  *   Strong interpersonal skills, team player, personable, professional, upbeat, organized, energetic,
       flexible, creative, innovative and capable of taking initiative

  *   Being a peer of seniors is a plus
  *   Able to maintain clear communication with proven written and oral presentation skills.
  *   Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Email
  *   Background check and ability to obtain fingerprint card from DPS required
