AMS Search

We are in the hunt for a new AMS after a botched attempt at a custom-made system. The number of options out there is overwhelming! We need a verstile, user-friendly AMS that can handle a firm-based membership, event registrations and blast emails. I'd love to hear what platforms you really like (or maybe don't like). Legislative Updates
ASAE preparing comments on AHP Rules

ASAE is in the process of preparing comments on proposed rules released in early January to expand association health plans (AHPs) as a means of providing access to affordable health coverage for small businesses and their employees.

Comments on the Department of Labor's proposed rules are due March 6, 2018. ASAE will share its draft comments with the association community in the next few weeks to allow interested parties time to review and use as a model for their own comments, if desired.

ASAE's comments will focus on what types of organizations should qualify as an "employer" for the purposes of establishing an AHP (and who could participate in these AHPs), as well as the complexities associated with state regulation of AHPs. The proposed rule would not preempt any current state regulations. Because the laws vary from state to state, AHP formation would be challenging without addressing state regulation.

Comments on the proposal can be submitted electronically at www.regulations.gov by referencing the Regulatory Identifier Number RIN 1210-AB85.
ASAE American Associations Day
March 21 - 22, 2018

American Associations Day, planned for March 21 - 22, 2018, is the only legislative fly-in where association professionals can connect with Congressional offices and share their stories on important association issues. This year, the focus will be on the value of association meetings to the economy and society, along with association tax issues. This unique opportunity allows you, as an association professional, to create connections with policy-makers that will not only advance the association industry, but your own organization, as well.

The event is open to any association executive, staff member or leadership volunteer who is passionate about association issues and wants to make a difference, as well as meet and network with fellow advocates from across the country. Registration is free, and out-of-town attendees are eligible to receive a scholarship of up to $300 to reimburse travel costs if they visit their members of Congress.

Th e education session on March 21 is worth 3.5 CAE credits.
