Alumni News

Jasmine Acfalle (BS in Biochemistry, 2017) Opened a beautiful coffee shop named the Wanderlust Kaffee in the small town of Sierra Vista. We support local artists, brewers and businesses. We use a portion of our proceeds to support  a women's home, the Jennifer House, which helps women get back on their feet and stay safe and clean. We hope to open another home in the near future.
Jim Hazzard (PhD in Biochemistry, 1988)  I am thoroughly enjoying retirement and recommend it to everyone! Now I have more free time to travel (my wife and I visited NYC this past fall for the first time), going deer hunting with my brother-in-law and his two sons, and taking long walks out in the desert south of my house collecting interesting rocks/minerals. We also get to spend more time with our 5-year old grandson as well being able to do more volunteer work at our church.
Chris Palmer (PhD in Analytical Chemistry, 1991) I recently completed a Fulbright Visiting Faculty Fellowship at the University of Sao Paulo in Sao Carlos, Brazil and am currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Montana in Missoula.
Sanhita Sinharay (PhD in Chemistry, 2016) I currently am a postdoctoral research associate at NIH. I have developed catalyCEST Magnetic Resonance Contrast Agents for a variety of tumor models, including ovarian cancer.
