2018 Petro-Canada FACE Grant
Congratulations to the Vancouver Hawks' very own Jamie Wallace on receiving the 2018 Petro-Canada FACE Grant! Every year, Petro Canada awards 55 grants to Olympic or Paralympic hopefuls who are in need of financial support.

Jamie Wallace, a Vancouver native, played with the Vancouver Hawks Field Hockey Club. He joined the Canadian Junior National Program in 2014, and was later named to the Canadian U-21 Team. As a 16 year-old, Wallace was the youngest player to represent Canada at the 2016 Junior Men's Pan-Am Games, where they won the silver medal.

His current goal is to make the senior team tour and contribute to the Men's National Team on their quest to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.  Read more about Jamie Wallace and the Petro-Canada FACE Grant on the  Field Hockey Canada website.

Well done Jamie, and best of luck pursuing the Olympic dream!

Women's and Men's National Teams Depart for Training Tours
The Women's and Men's National Teams are both currently abroad for their winter training tours.

The Women's Team is currently on tour in Chile from January 17-30. After a tough loss to Chile last year in the World League Round 2, the Canadians lead the Chileans 1-0-1 in their four game series. They defeated Chile 3-2 in their first game of this series, with BC's own Sara McManus scoring the game-winner, and came to a 0-0 draw in game two. The rival teams will face off twice more before the end of the month. To follow their progress, click here.

The Men's Team is on a two week training tour for the five-nations tournament in Malaga, Spain. They will spend a week training and a week competing, with their first match taking place on January 29th against Ireland. The 22 player squad will be focused on training and team building in preparation for the Commonwealth Games this coming spring. For more information on the men's tour, click here.
